    Abstract: A boxed header is formed from an exterior side plate, an interior side plate, a top plate, a bottom plate, a first end plate and a second end plate. The top plate is connected to the exterior side plate and the interior side plate with welded joints that are formed at the juncture between J-beveled top edges on the exterior side plate and the interior side plate that support the weight of the top plate during assembly. Once the top plate has been secured, the boxed header can be rotated and the bottom plate is attached to the exterior side plate and the interior side plate with welded joints that are formed at the juncture between J-beveled bottom edges on the exterior side plate and the interior side plate that support the weight of the bottom plate during assembly.

    Abstract: Plasticized polyisocyanate compositions contain (a) an isocyanate terminated reaction product of a polymeric MDI with a difunctional poly(propylene oxide) homopolymer or difunctional copolymer of at least 85% by weight propylene oxide and up to 15% by weight ethylene oxide, which homopolymer or copolymer has a molecular weight of from about 400 to 2200 and (b) at least one alkyl ester of one or more fatty acids, the polyisocyanate composition having an isocyanate content of from about 8 to about 14% by weight and a Brookfield viscosity of no greater than 5000 cps at 25° C. The plasticized prepolymers are particularly useful in foam formulations for insulating cavities in automotive parts and thermal insulating panels such as the walls of buildings or appliances.

    Abstract: A finned tube for heat transfer from one medium to a second medium, and the method of manufacture, is disclosed. A helical fin of the finned tube has an area of compressed fins positioned proximate an insertion section which has a metal tube exposed with the helical fin removed therefrom. The compressed fins are a portion of the helical fin which has been compressed so that the helical fin in the area of the compressed fins is more closely spaced than the remaining portion of the helical fin. A base portion of the helical fin in the area of the compressed fins is layered and compressed on itself and is compressed against the metal tube. The layers of the base portion are compressed together and to the metal tube of the finned tube, which causes the layers of the base portion to bind together and bind to the metal tube to prevent movement of the helical fin in the area of the compressed fins in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the finned tube.
