    Abstract: A single-sided or reversible belt includes a single-sided or double-sided belt strap without any adjusting hole, any popular belt buckle of a frame style or plate style with its prong or projection removed, and new belt fastening means. The belt buckle is providable with a retainer loop on the rear side adjacent an outer end to keep the outer end portion of the belt buckle from dangling after belt buckling. A first fastening element is installed on underside or double sides of a belt strap free end portion, for example. An adjustably slidable locking belt clip is then used to engage a belt strap fixed end portion and carries a mating second fastening element. For belt fastening, the belt clip is manually slid along the engaged belt strap end portion to keep the two fastening elements aligned, leading to having them fastened together. This kind of belt may be used on such articles as trousers and shoes.

    Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for assuring uninterruptible battery power for a typical electric motor vehicle powered by an array of series-connected member batteries. Such assurance results from a provision of an electrically-operated bypass switch configured to form a closed electrical bypass circuit path across a faulty first member battery upon activation, thus keeping the vehicle powered up. In one embodiment, the bypass switch is a double-pole multi-contact selector switch connected to each member battery and complimented by a pole-connect switch. For an atypical electric motor vehicle, such as with a multiple battery array parallel configuration, a backup battery may be provided and connected with the faulty battery array in series to displace the bypassed member battery, thus maintaining equal voltage outputs from the battery arrays.

    Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for automatically displacing a faulty in-use member battery in an electric equipment, such as electric vehicle, powered by an array of member batteries configured to self detect battery fault conditions and output a control signal upon such detection. By use of a charged spare battery and deactivated single pole double throw relay switches with activation means for coupling all batteries, member batteries are normally interconnected in series electrically to provide a predetermined voltage, with the spare battery standing by. While the electric equipment is in operation, as soon as a member battery detects a fault, the corresponding relay switch is activated to cause the faulty member battery to be electrically bypassed by the battery array. Concurrently, the spare relay switch is activated to electrically connect the spare battery to the battery array in series, thereby displacing the faulty in-use member battery.

If the WRITE AND VERIFY command fails, the RAID controller can issue a REASSIGN BLOCKS command for the bad block and re-issue the WRITE AND VERIFY command. If WRITE AND VERIFY commands are not supported, then the system can use a READ command with the “Force Unit Access” flag bit being set to “1” to verify the written data. Further, the WRT may be combined with Bad Data Table (BDT) to reject a Read Request from the host for a matched LBA (that is listed therein) because the data in the addressed block is known incorrect when a write recovery action is not warranted.

This embodiment of the method includes the steps of: identify data in a destructive zone of the storage system; migrating data before reaching the destructive zone from source storage devices to destination storage devices; copying data onto a number of backup buffers; mirroring data backed up in the copying step onto free space in the storage system; migrating data backed up in the mirroring step to destination storage devices; repeating the steps of migrating, copying, and mirroring, until data that will be in the destructive zone is migrated out of the destructive zone; and migrating remaining data from the source disks onto the destination disk.
