Abstract: Solvent weld cement (SWC) is used to fuse polymer pipes together. SWC is conventionally dispensed in liquid form from an open container by a swab or brush, resulting in release of fumes, oxidation and contamination of the SWC, as well as environmental contamination due to spilled SWC. A SWC is provided which remains stable while being stored in and dispensed from an aerosol container. The SWC composition comprises a polymer resin, CPVC, a solvent system including tetrahydrofuran, and at least one conventional propellant to allow the SWC to be dispensed from an aerosol container. The resulting SWC remains stable during storage, and when dispensed from the aerosol can provides a SWC with improved uniformity of application, ease of application, greater set-up time, and a SWC which is environmentally friendly.

Abstract: Straight edge apparatus for setting a level, second row of tile in the tub splash above an upper side edge of a tub, and extendable straight edge apparatus are disclosed. The apparatus for setting the second row of tile comprises and elongate straight edge formed by a substantially flat, elongate member having at least one straight side edge and a width that is less than the side dimension of the tile being laid. A flat flange extending substantially perpendicular from a straight edge of the flat, elongate member, and at least two, spaced apart leg means of adjustable length extend from the flat, elongate member in a direction away from the float flange on the flat, elongate member. The flat elongate member can be set flatwise against a wall on which the tile of the tub splash is to be set, with distal ends of the leg means resting on the upper side edge of the tub and being adjusted in length so that the flat flange is level.

Abstract: A tile saw having a liquid reservoir and a rotary saw blade protruding through a saw table, the rotary blade picking up liquid from said liquid reservoir as it rotates, the liquid being used to cool the rotary blade as it cuts, comprising a means for maintaining the circulation of liquid from the liquid reservoir to the rotary blade as it cuts and back to the reservoir with no significant splashing or loss of liquid, and means for cutting past the rotary blade without interfering with the maintained circulation of liquid which cools the rotary blade. The rotary blade protrudes through a thin slit in the saw table so that a tile is provided with support as it is cut, whereby precision cuts can be made to the tile.
