  • Patent number: 4788397
Abstract: Portable turntable and drive motor assembly for use in microwave ovens. The drive motor assembly is positioned to one side of the turntable platform and has a low profile so that it will not interfere with the rotation of overhanging objects on the platform. In the principal embodiment disclosed, the drive motor is spring powered.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 13, 1987
Date of Patent: November 29, 1988
    Assignee: Plastics, Inc.
    Inventor: Allen M. Danley
  • Patent number: 4754111
Abstract: Turntable for rotating food being cooked in a microwave oven, including a rotatable platform upon which the food is mounted and a drive motor positioned to the side of the platform. The turntable is made of a material having a low loss tangent at microwave frequencies, and the drive motor is surrounded by a shielding enclosure which reflects microwaves. In one of the disclosed embodiments, the turntable can also be used in conventional ovens.

  • Patent number: 4590351
Abstract: Compact turntable for use in microwave ovens. The drive motor assembly is positioned entirely beneath the rotating platform having a ring of inwardly facing gear teeth and has a relatively low profile. This turntable can be utilized in smaller oven cavities than bulkier turntables heretofore provided.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4477705
Abstract: A cooking utensil for a microwave oven is provided comprising a shallow, generally hollow, lower cooking member defining a pyramidal-shaped cavity with an open base. A stand orients the lower cooking member in the microwave oven cavity with the open base upwardly directed to define an open top, pyramidal-shaped lower heating chamber for retaining and heating popcorn kernels. Unpopped popcorn kernels are gravity biased into the apexes defined by the intersections of the sidewalls of the pyramidal-shaped heating chamber to facilitate efficient heating of the unpopped kernels. A cover is disposed over the lower cooking member comprising a deep, generally hollow, upper member defining a roughly cube-shaped cavity with one open side.

  • Patent number: 4330697
Abstract: Drive motor assembly for use with a turntable, rotisserie or other appliance in a microwave oven. The motor assembly is self-contained and can be used interchangeably with different appliances. It can be positioned in a corner of the oven cavity where it will not interfere appreciably with the distribution of microwave energy within the cavity.
