  • Patent number: 10147861
Abstract: A thermoelectric generation unit for a cookstove or other heat source is described. The thermoelectric generation unit includes a probe, a thermoelectric module, and a fluid reservoir. The probe draws heat from a heat source such as a wood cookstove. The thermoelectric module generates an electric current based on a heat gradient created by different temperatures of contents of the fluid reservoir and the probe.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 27, 2016
Date of Patent: December 4, 2018
    Assignee: JikoPower, Inc.
Inventors: Daniel Allen Parrish, Aaron Zane Owen, Ryan Anthony Ahearn, Michael Jooste

  • Patent number: 9241471
Abstract: A new synthetic cultivar of prairie cordgrass designated ‘Savoy’ is described. ‘Savoy’ is well adapted to the lower Midwest environment of the United States of America, and has a higher biomass yield potential than presently available commercial prairie cordgrass cultivars, such as ‘Red River’. In particular, compared to ‘Red River’, the cultivar ‘Savoy’ has higher mass per tiller, more leaves per tiller, higher shoot height and longer, wider leaves containing more biomass per leaf.

Date of Patent: January 26, 2016
Assignee: The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois
    Inventors: Dokyoung Lee, Allen Parrish
