  • Publication number: 20180147944
Abstract: The vehicle based electromechanical process and apparatus providing for the generation of electrical energy from many vehicles, and for its intermediate storage into a cluster of storage batteries that are onboard each vehicle and finally for multiple events for each vehicle of the transfer of the stored energy to the nation's electrical grid. It is the integrated utilization of three components: generation, storage and grid collection. The rationale is that in the U.S., billions of transportation miles are routinely logged each day by more than a quarter billion vehicles and trains, presenting the potential to produce large amounts of electricity, and with the production of electricity, many major related benefits, and some of them ecological. Simply stated, the energy that will be used anyway in the operation of vehicles, will also be used indirectly to create large quantities of electrical energy directed into the nation's electrical grid.

  • Patent number: 8593929
Abstract: A moving coil type pick up capsule having a body, cantilever having first and second ends, a stylus located at its first end and a coil located at its second end and, therebetween, a dampener having an opening therethrough. The cantilever passes through the dampener opening such that the stylus is on a first side of the dampener and the coil is on a second side of the dampener. First and second magnets or yokes are positioned within or proximate the capsule body and spaced from one another to create a gap, the dampener and coil being positioned within the gap such that the fulcrum is located between the stylus and coil and specifically at the dampener. A dampening fluid fills the gap to complete the assembly.

  • Patent number: 7944803
Abstract: A tone arm assembly for use with a rotatable turntable. The tone arm assembly includes a tone arm body supported adjacent to the rotating turntable being horizontally pivotable about a vertically extending axis. A tone arm tube is provided having a longitudinal axis and a first end and a second end, the first end extending within and being supported by the tone arm body and the second end terminating at a shell for releaseably supporting a pick up cartridge. A counterweight is included which is translatable along a horizontal path parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tone arm tube between a first position and a second position, the first position being closest to the shell and a second position being farthest from the shell to adjust contact pressure between a stylus maintained by the pick up cartridge and a record supported by the rotatable turntable.

  • Patent number: 6565491
Abstract: An inertial training apparatus and method utilized for strength training and rehabilitation strength training of muscles. The inertial training apparatus and method allows for generation of rotational inertial forces by accelerating a mass by a concentric contraction of a muscle and converting the rotational inertial forces of the mass into a substantially equivalent eccentric action of the muscle used to decelerate the mass. A tether is coupled between the mass and a body part to transfer the tension forces provided by the body part to accelerate the mass and, in turn, those provided by the body part to decelerate the mass. A swing arm and a mass on the swing arm are rotatably mounted to a frame to preferably allow for low-friction rotation about a substantially vertical axis. A primary tether guide is preferably coupled to the frame and can be positioned near an intermediate rotational position of the swing arm where acceleration forces are transferred into deceleration forces.

  • Patent number: 6276654
Abstract: A wall panel mount for mounting a wall panel to siding on a wall of a building. The wall panel mount includes a first side surface having an indentation adapted to mate with the siding, and an abutment adapted to flush against the wall. The wall panel further includes either a second side surface bordering the first side surface, and a third side surface bordering the second side surface and the first side surface, or a second side surface bordering the first side surface, a third side surface bordering the second side surface, and a fourth side surface bordering the first side surface and the third side surface. The wall panel is to be adjoined to the third side surface or to be securely inserted into a groove of a channel that is adjoined to the third side surface.
