Patent number: 7811278Abstract: A fluid connector and method of use is disclosed that includes a male housing with a male proximal end portion adapted to be in fluid communication with a first line and a male distal end portion having a resilient ring. Also included is a female housing with a female proximal end portion adapted to be in fluid communication with a second line and a female distal end portion with a resilient annulus that removably engages the ring. Operationally, the male and the female housings are configured at the annulus and ring engagement to have a high separating resistance axially and a low separating resistance transverse to the axial axis by manually applying a bending moment between the male and female engaged housings by a force transverse to the axial axis. Further included is structure for fluid sealing between the male and female housings when the annulus and ring are engaged.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2007Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignee: Cuffco, LLCInventors: Larry Eugene Knipple, Jr., Mark Allen Stone, David Warren Splett

Patent number: 7627553Abstract: Methods, systems, and data structure custom queries for segmentation. Queries are imported into a segmentation tool and modified. The queries are associated with data sources that are not mapped within the segmentation tool. Parts of the queries are manually supplied or imported into the segmentation tool and parts of the queries are automatically generated based table and key selections associated with a customer hierarchy. When the custom queries are executed the query results provide customer segmentations for desired marketing campaigns.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2004Date of Patent: December 1, 2009Assignee: Teradata US, Inc.Inventors: Susan Jamie Borofsky, Larry L. Patent number: 7564371Abstract: A subsystem of an avionics system is operated in a first mode for receiving software via a port; and in a second mode in accordance with a circuit that includes a terminator coupled to the port. By using the terminator to convey information regarding a desired configuration for operation in the second mode, communication and wiring is avoided between subsystems of the avionics system for conveying such information. In one implementation, operation in the second mode includes performing a collision avoidance function (e.g., providing a TCAS advisory). Configuration information in accordance with the circuit may specify an arrangement of shared antennas between multiple transponders and/or mode changes related to using an antenna for a collision avoidance function in a hijack mode of operation.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2006Date of Patent: July 21, 2009Assignee: Aviation Communication & Surveillance SystemsInventors: Cyro Allen Stone, Douglas W. Guetter, Desi D. Stelling

Patent number: 6672972Abstract: A small laser pointer is connected to a gripping member by a free-swinging connection member so that when the gripping member is attached to a golfer's cap, golf visor or sunglasses, the laser pointer plumbs straight down under the influence of the gravitational force. Because of the free-swinging connection member, the laser pointer can swing as a pendulum through the full 360° of motion in a horizontal plane. The point of light that is projected by the laser pointer onto the ground provides the golfer with instant feed back if the golfer's head moves during the putting stroke, as the point of light created by the laser will also move when the head moves. The point of light from the laser also provides a point of reference that allows the golfer to set the golfer's eyes directly over the ball. At this location, the golfer is ensured of seeing the line of the putt better and is able to line up the putter head more precisely.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2002Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Inventor: Robert Allen Stone

Patent number: 6296281Abstract: A latent image structure of a highly secure nature in which two latent image are superimposed. Each of the superimposed latent images is viewable from a different line of sight. Relief elements define, for each latent image, portions of respective linear relief structures providing an image and a background which cooperate to generate the latent image. Relief elements are only provided at locations where the linear relief structures of the first and second latent images intersect. The resultant latent image structure, when viewed normally, has the advantage of a relatively flat appearance, making it difficult to discern the presence either of the superimposed latent images.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2000Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: De La Rue International LimitedInventor: David Allen Stone

Patent number: 5726012Abstract: A rapid, high capacity method using chaotropic agents for evaluating nucleic acids is described. Samples containing the target nucleic acid can be evaluated in a nucleic acid based sandwich hybridization assay which is performed, in part, in a chaotropic solution which is removed prior to detecting and/or quantitating the product. This assay can be used to detect and/or quantitate nucleic acid levels. It can also be used as an infectivity assay and/or as an assay to evaluate anti-infectious agent activity of compounds.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1994Date of Patent: March 10, 1998Assignee: E.
