  • Publication number: 20170101115
Abstract: A system is disclosed for use in simulating operation of a train. The system may have at least one sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of an operating status of a component of the train during completion of an assigned trip. The system may also have a display, and a controller in communication with the at least one sensor and the display. The controller may be configured to retrieve from memory first data associated with the assigned trip, and retrieve from memory second data associated with the train. The controller may be further configured to simulate completion of a remainder of the assigned trip based on the first data, the second data, and the signal, when the operating status of the component becomes malfunctioning, and to cause simulation results to be shown on the display.

  • Publication number: 20170051580
Abstract: A hydrocarbon power system that includes a turbine generator, a downhole heat exchanger, and an expander pump assembly. Various arrangements of the expander pump assembly address considerations related to the design of the downhole expander pump. In such a system, the turbine generator receives a high pressure working fluid from the downhole system to drive a generator. The turbine generator can be in fluid communication with the downhole heat exchanger and with the turbine portion of a downhole turbine pump assembly. The pump portion of the downhole turbine pump assembly can be in fluid communication with the downhole heat exchanger and a source of hydrocarbon fluid.

  • Patent number: 9243481
Abstract: A compressor free, generator free system production well for accelerated oil and gas removal from a reservoir using a magnetically coupled expander pump assembly, which include an outer expansion turbine that rotates around a pump. A magnetic coupling couples the expansion turbine to the pump. An inner portion of the magnetic coupling can be coupled to a pump shaft that drives the pump. An outer portion of the magnetic coupling can be driven by the expansion turbine, which rotates circumferentially around the pump. The expansion turbine drives the fluid to pump a driven fluid stream through the magnetic coupling. In this manner, flow directions of both driving and driven fluid streams remain separate and coaxial, thereby facilitating a reduction in an overall diameter of the expander pump assembly.

  • Publication number: 20080184800
Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing the resonant frequency of vibratory wires within vibratory wire gauges. The resonant frequency of the vibrating wire is determined by using an interface that digitizes the response of an excited wire in the gauge. A transform then converts the digitized data into a frequency spectrum. The resulting spectrum is used to estimate the resonant frequency of the vibrating wire. The resulting measurement or estimate of the resonant frequency can be used to measure or determine some physical characteristic of the device or structure or system connected to the gauge.
