  • Patent number: 7676197
Abstract: A computing platform includes a wireless interface and other devices that may cause interference to the wireless interface. The other devices may change frequencies of operation or data rates to steer signal spectrum away from current wireless channels and reduce interference to the wireless interface.

  • Patent number: 7366473
Abstract: A method and apparatus for diversity switching control are generally described herein. According to one embodiment, a diversity control network is introduced which effectively reduces the number of coaxial cables required to interface with N antennas from the conventional N cables, to N/2 thereby providing significant cost saving.

  • Patent number: 7206609
Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, an apparatus comprises a plurality of RF antennas, the plurality of RF antennas have a calibrated radiation pattern. The apparatus may further comprise a directional finding program that receives RF signal information from said plurality of RF antennas and RF antenna calibrated radiation pattern information and then calculates the direction from which said RF signals emanate relative to said apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7176842
Abstract: A slot antenna having one or more electronic components attached across a slot of the antenna to provide either an RF open or an RF short based on the bias supplied to a control terminal of the electronic component. The antenna is tunable via the RF open or short across the slot.

  • Patent number: 7002518
Abstract: An impedance plane has an elongated strip ship. The impedance plane approximates a magnetic conductor within a particular frequency band. A sector antenna is coupled to one side of the impedance plane. The sector antenna has a planar form factor with dimensions contained within the elongated strip. The sector antenna has a radiation pattern in the particular frequency band that is flared out from the impedance plane at a particular angle.

  • Patent number: 6181225
Abstract: The resonator of the present invention is preferably made of low cost alumina offering performance in a variable frequency oscillator application that is nearly equivalent to that of a high Q dielectric design. The resonator structure is tunable over a wide range with substantially no effect on oscillator phase noise or signal amplitude. The resonator utilizes a unique geometric structure which employs a transmission line preferably on alumina, conducting via holes (called castellations) and a topside ground pattern formed with a thick film of silver and/or palladium. A plurality of resonators may be formed by a step and repeat pattern then snapped apart for low cost, high volume manufacture. The resonator may be tuned in both a vertical and horizontal direction by removing topside metal from the resonator, to raise and lower the frequency, until the desired frequency is met.
