In one detailed embodiment, the seal assembly includes a substrate 42 having angled surfaces 44, 46 facing a flowpath 24 for working medium gases which intersect at an obtuse angle region I and an axially continuous metal structure 48 which is attached to both surfaces and extends across the obtuse angle region.
