Abstract: A high efficiency vertical axis wind turbine apparatus for generating energy from wind power. The apparatus includes a generator in communication with a rotatable shaft, wherein the rotatable shaft is disposed along a central axis. A support bearing is coupled to the rotatable shaft for rotatably supporting the rotatable shaft. A plurality of substantially similar symmetrical wings is connected to and extends from the rotatable shaft wherein each wing provides an upper strut, a blade, and a lower strut. The upper strut has a substantially curvilinear configuration and is connected to the rotatable shaft and the blade. The blade has a substantially straight linear configuration substantially parallel to the central axis. The lower strut has a substantially curvilinear configuration and is connected to the rotatable shaft and the blade such that the wings are rotatably driven by wind so as to rotate the rotatable shaft and drive the generator.
