    Abstract: A method of sealing tissue in accordance with the present disclosure include grasping tissue between first and second jaw members, applying energy to the grasped tissue in accordance with a pre-treatment algorithm to pre-treat the grasped tissue in anticipation of tissue sealing, and applying energy to the pre-treated, grasped tissue in accordance with a tissue sealing algorithm to seal the pre-treated grasped tissue. Electrosurgical systems configured to implement the method are also provided.
