    Abstract: A tissue treating device includes a handle with an actuator; a control cable; and a cap. The cap includes a mounting structure removably coupled in an operative configuration on a distal end of an insertion device. The cap includes a part movably coupled to the structure for movement between a retracted position in which a distal end of the part is received over the distal end of the device and an extended position in which a distal end of the part extends distally beyond the distal end of the device. The part includes a wall defining an internal channel so that, when the part is in the extended position, the wall surrounds a space contiguous to the distal end of the device. The part is coupled to a distal end of the cable so that, actuation of the actuator moves the part between the extended and retracted positions.

The cap includes a proximal portion mounted over a distal end of a scope device and a distal portion including flaps. The proximal portion extends along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end and includes a proximal channel extending therethrough. A proximal end of each flap is pivotally connected to the distal end of the proximal portion so that the flaps are movable between a closed configuration and an expanded configuration. A distal end of each of the members is connected to a corresponding flap so that a longitudinal movement of the members relative to the proximal portion of the cap moves the flaps relative to the proximal portion between the closed and expanded configurations.

    Abstract: An ostomy device includes an implant formed of a flexible material and shaped so that the implant is capable of transitioning between a first shape and a second shape. The implant includes a tubular body sized and shaped for insertion within a lumen extending through a hole in an abdominal wall, a flared portion extending radially outward and away from the body when the implant is in the first shape, and a transition region between the body and the flared portion. The transition region and the flared portion are bendable so that transitioning the implant from the first shape into the second shape comprises inverting the flared portion so that a surface of the flared portion can be brought into contact with an outer surface of patient anatomy, whereupon the implant can be attached to the patient anatomy in the second shape.

    Abstract: An ostomy bag device includes a bag with first and second chambers communicating via a first opening and a pressure sensitive interface. The bag includes a second opening interfacing with a stoma exit and receiving waste in the first chamber, a third opening expelling the waste from the first chamber, and a fourth opening releasing gas from the second chamber. The interface transitions from a first state in which the interface prevents a gas flow through the first opening from the first to second chambers and a second state in which the interface allows the flow. A first pressure differential in the first chamber relative to the second chamber causes the interface to assume the first state preventing the flow and a second pressure differential in the first chamber relative to the second chamber higher than the first differential causes the interface to assume the second state allowing the flow.

    Abstract: A clip includes first and second jaws, first and second hinges, and a connection portion. Each of the jaws extends along a curve from a first end to a second end. The first hinge connects the first ends and the second hinge connects the second ends so that the jaws are movable between at open configuration, in which the jaws are separated from one another, and a closed configuration, in which the jaws are drawn toward one another to grip tissue therebetween. The first and/or second hinges is/are biased to draw the clip toward the closed configuration. The portion connects an end of each of the hinges to a corresponding one of the first and second ends. The connecting includes an engaging feature engaging via a through-the scope device to extract the clip from a tissue over which it has been clipped upon a deployment thereof.
