    Abstract: Provided is a process for producing a reaction product, the process comprising reacting polyisobutylene with a radical initiator and an ethylenically unsaturated acylating agent at a reaction temperature of from 150° C. to 225° C. to produce the reaction product, wherein the polyisobutylene is brought to the reaction temperature prior to addition of the radical initiator; and wherein the ethylenically unsaturated acylating agent is added at any time prior to or during addition of the radical initiator.
