  • Patent number: 11386222
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for generating a secure join of database data are disclosed. A method includes hashing datapoints of a consumer account and creating a secure view of the hashed datapoints of the consumer account. The method further includes processing, using a secure user defined function (UDF), the hashed datapoints of the consumer account and datapoints of a provider account to generate a secure join key, wherein the hashed data points of the consumer account are provided to the secure UDF using the secure view.

  • Patent number: 11379605
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for secure view-based data sharing are disclosed. A method in accordance with embodiments disclosed herein comprises associating, by one or more processors, view privileges of a secure view with one or more of a plurality of underlying details of a share object of a first account such that each of the one or more underlying details of the share object comprises a definition of the secure view. The method further comprises: in response to receiving a request from a second account to access any underlying details of the share object, using a secure projection that does not match any rewrite rule preconditions to rewrite a query plan of the request to prevent expressions that do not originate from the secure view from being pushed down below a boundary of the secure view.

  • Patent number: 11372888
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for join operations of a plurality of relations that are distributed over a plurality of storage locations over a network of computing components. An example method includes: receiving a relational join query for a join operation associated with a first relation and a second relation; generating at least one build operator and at least one probe operator to perform build operations and probe operations, respectively, of the join operation; and managing a state of one or more communication links between the at least one build operator and the at least one probe operator based on a size of the second relation as determined by the at least one build operator and an estimated size of the first relation.

  • Patent number: 11366926
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for implementing secure views for zero-copy data sharing in a multi-tenant database system are disclosed. A method includes receiving, by a cross-account, a grant to access a share object comprising a secure view and usage functionality associated with a secure user-defined function (UDF) to underlying data. The method includes accessing, by the cross-account, the share object using the grant. The method includes sending a request to a share component to cause the share component to implement the secure view and the usage functionality associated with the secure UDF. The method includes sending a query to the share component to cause the share component to implement the secure UDF.

  • Publication number: 20220138224
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for executing queries on a database platform. A processing device may execute a first operator in a query plan to process a set of data and generate an intermediate result of a query. the intermediate result of the first operator may be pushed, during execution of the query plan, to a plurality of secondary operators as the intermediate result is generated. Each of the plurality of secondary operators may be initiated to concurrently process the intermediate result to generate a plurality of second results, and a timing of processing of the intermediate result by one or more of the plurality of secondary operators is adjusted to coordinate the generation of the plurality of second results. The processor may execute the final operation on the plurality of second results to generate a final result.

  • Publication number: 20220092068
Abstract: Queries executed against a materialized view can execute up to orders of magnitude faster than equivalent queries on a source (or base) table. However, although a query can reference a materialized view directly, a user (e.g., query author) may not know about a relevant materialized view. Moreover, if a source table has multiple materialized views generated, the user may not know which materialized view to reference in the query. Thus, embodiments of the present disclosure provide techniques for automatically rewriting queries directed to a source table to utilize existing materialized views.
