  • Publication number: 20020071767
Abstract: A rotor blade arrangement includes a rotor blade with a hollow blade chamber therein, and a flap module removably arranged and secured in the blade chamber. The flap module includes a module housing received in the blade chamber, an actuator arranged in the housing, a flap pivotably arranged at an edge of the housing, and a power transmission linkage connecting the actuator to the flap. The module housing is inserted through an opening into the blade chamber, so that the flap protrudes and forms a continuation of the aerodynamic contour of the blade. The flap may be a trailing edge flap at the trailing edge or a leading edge nose flap at the leading edge of the blade. The flap module does not change the center of gravity of the blade. The entire flap module can be easily removed from the blade for adjustment, inspection, maintenance, repair or replacement.

  • Patent number: 5363760
Abstract: A rotor unit comprises a rotor cylinder which is fastened to a shaft and is rotatably supported via an external bearing. A gear motor is arranged in the interior, which gear motor drives a first double gear wheel in both rotating directions (a, b) via its power take-off shaft and a pinion. The double gear wheel is supported on a disk and a bearing plate in a freewheel bearing and engages with a second double gear wheel. In one rotating direction (b), the freewheel bearing locks the toothed wheel, so that the latter, rigidly together with the disk, is carried along by the pinion. In this way, the second double gear wheel engages serially with one intermediate gear in each instance, wherein every such engagement is exactly positioned by means of a ball catch. In the other rotating direction (a), the motor in each instance turns a number wheel via the aforementioned gears and accordingly sets e.g. one digit of the postage meter machine's value stamp.

  • Patent number: 4988084
Abstract: A spring element for connecting two components, the two components having substantially the same direction of extension, where one component is fixed relative to the other component, with the latter component having angle of rotation mobility relative to the fixed component. In the component extension direction, a T-shaped sectional piece is provided having a base section extending in the component extension direction and a section extending substantially perpendicularly from the base section. The section extending from the base section has a connecting device for connecting this section to the component with angle of rotation mobility. The base section has torsional flexibility and includes a connnecting device at each end for connecting the base section to the fixed component. The connecting devices for connecting the base section to the fixed component are limited to both ends of the base section.

  • Patent number: 4975021
Abstract: A rotor, in particular a helicopter rotor, whereby the movement of the pitch angle of the rotor blade relative to a rotor hub is provided either by a blade neck with torsional flexibility disposed between a blade root and a blade wing or by a blade connection on a rotor hub arm with torsional flexibility. The pitch angle control for the blade is provided by a steering rod coupled to a torsionally stiff blade control casing extending coaxially without making contact along the blade neck or the rotor hub arm up to the blade wing or to the blade root. The control casing is supported on the blade root or rotor hub by at least one brace, which brace, in the longitudinal direction of the blade, has a T-shape. The vertical section of the T-shape is coupled to the blade control casing and the T-base is coupled with torsional flexibility to the blade root or the rotor hub arm, whereby the connection to the base is limited to both of the extremities of the base.

  • Patent number: 4692127
Abstract: An intermediate shaft is provided which achieves a sliding connection between an outer part (17) and an inner part (18) inserted into the outer part. Two Cardan joints are formed of axial bores (22, 31). The joint heads (48, 49) are inserted into the axial bores (22, 31) and include grooves (53, 52) which are open on one side. Dog driver bolts (44, 45) engage the open grooves. A helical spring (19) tensions the intermediate shaft (15) between the joints.
