Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and system for delivering contextually relevant information from disparate information sources. The system includes: a set of responders, each responder being associated with at least one source of information; a situation generator for parsing an agent data set received from an agent to identify an actionable situation; and an intervention controller. The intervention controller: sends a notification of the actionable situation to a selected set of the responders; receives an intervention recommendation from at least one responder, the intervention recommendation being contextually relevant information for the identified actionable situation; determines whether the intervention recommendation is valid; and forwards the intervention recommendation to an intervention performer, when the intervention recommendation is valid.

Abstract: A new approach is proposed that contemplates systems and methods to support context-sensitive presentation of activity management data. Under the approach, a user's current activities are monitored and relevant data in a computer-based activity management system is retrieved if the monitored user activities meet certain criteria. A signal is then provided to the user indicative of the existence of data in the computer-based activity management system relevant to the current work of the user. Once the user indicates his/her intent to access such relevant data, that data is made accessible to the user.

Abstract: A new approach is proposed that contemplates systems and methods to communicate composite data messages using conventional messaging systems, particularly email systems, while preserving the integrity of the composite data messages without losing any information in the messages. More specifically, the structured data in a composite data message from a sender is serialized and converted into image data, where the resulting image data encodes the structured data. The converted image data is then attached to the free text portion of the composite data message as an embedded image to form a recomposed message. The recomposed message is then communicated to one or more recipients through a heterogeneous messaging environment comprising of one or more collaborating messaging systems. Upon receiving the second recomposed message, each recipient reconstructs the composite data message by converting the embedded image data into structured data.

In one version, authoring includes converting free-text to structured data. One version includes communicating the composite message.

Abstract: Presented herein are methods for providing structured data from authored messages. Also presented herein are software products, e.g., in the form of carrier media each carrying computer readable instructions that when executed by a processor of a processing system, carry out methods for authoring messages, and systems making use of such methods and software products. The methods are particularly applicable messages authored in relation to the planning, executing, controlling, evaluating and reporting of human collaborative undertakings, such that authoring is performable by a user in a fashion familiar from prior art methods, including word processing, email, and other free-text authoring software systems. Structured data is provided from the authoring process, and this data is, in some implementations, provided to an activity management system for the purpose of updating records maintained by that system.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating collation keys that can be used by sorting methods so as to arrange a sequence of data objects in order of their semantic relevance to the user or their relevance to an operating context. The constituent data values of each data object are “weighted” according to semantic relevance and a composite collation key is generated that reflects the data object's overall relevance.
