Abstract: Apparatus and method of performing percutaneous bone surgery particularly to repair a particular fractured trochanteric portion of a femur. The technique includes the making of a small first incision to the bone, introducing a tubular guide, placing a drill in the tube activating the same, drilling a bore into the bone, withdrawing the drill and guide and inserting a new pin and pin insertion means to place the pin in position in the bore and due to its design leaving a portion extending from said bone bore to abut and lie against the femur at approximately 145.degree. to the angle of the portion of the pin in the bore. In addition the pin insertion means includes a portion adapted to abut the exterior skin and serve as a guide for an additional small incision, insertion of a tubular guide, placing a drill in the guide, drilling a second bore below the first bore and at an angle thereto.

Abstract: A resilient sling for use with and to support a fractured arm of a wearer whereby a low energy exercise of the muscles and joints of the arm is possible utilizing the sling. When the arm is moved downward within the sling both will flex and stretch downward and offer slight resistance to the movement of the arm and upon controlled release of the arm the sling will return to an upper at rest position moving the arm upward therewith. Such exercising will promote healing of the fracture and prevent joint and muscle stiffness.

Abstract: Upper and lower leg supporting apparatus having hinge means articulated so as to be adjustable laterally toward and away from the leg and so as to be movable with the leg in accordance with the bending of the knee.

Abstract: An invalid support device which includes the capabilities of acting as a back support for an invalid when in a sitting position and further to serve as a walker to support an invalid in a walking position and also including a seat support whereby the invalid may sit and rest within the invalid supporting device when it is utilized as a walker.The device includes a frame structure and body support member which may be utilized in several positions on the invalid supporting device depending upon the use desired.

Abstract: A tool for inserting a prosthetic femoral head into and for removing it from a prosthetic hip socket, the tool including a handle, means for engaging a prosthetic femoral head and neck therebelow and a rod connecting the handle with the engaging means.A method of inserting a prosthetic femoral head into and removing it from a prosthetic hip socket in which the femoral head and its neck below are engaged with a twistable tool, followed by twisting the outer end of the tool and twisting the femoral head so as to move it transversely into or out of the hip socket.
