  • Patent number: 6954221
Abstract: A safety structure of a desk-top Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is disclosed. The safety structure has a seat body pivotally mounted to a monitor, characterized in that the monitor is provided with two sections of elevation angle, wherein the first section of the elevation angle complies with the angle of application for human body, and the second section of the elevation angle has a maximum elevation angle in parallel to a base seat of the monitor, and the twisting force of the monitor required to rotate within the scope of elevation angle of the second section is larger than that of the elevation angle of the first section, but the twisting force to rotate within the second section is smaller than the weight of the seat body.

  • Publication number: 20040170435
Abstract: A wireless signal transmitting and receiving system is disclosed to be applied to a display device thereby receiving wireless signals omni directionally. The system includes a plurality of transmitting units for sending optical signals via optical beams, and a plurality of receiving units for collecting the redundant optical signals and combining the signals to a single optical signal for conversion into an electrical signal for further processing. The object of the system is to solve the weak signal strength problems caused by moving obstacles between the transmitting units and the receiving units or when the optical signal is reflected or deflected.

  • Publication number: 20040137953
Abstract: A wireless signal transmitting and receiving system adopted for use on display devices for receiving wireless signals in an omnidirectional fashion consists of an transmission end for generating transmission signals and a band-type receiving area located on one end of the exterior of a display device for receiving transmission signals and displaying them on the display device. The system provided by the invention can reduce the signal interruption problem caused by objects moving between the transmission end and the receiving area.

  • Publication number: 20040085314
Abstract: A method for rendering outlines of a 3D object. The object is modeled by polygons. The method comprises steps of identifying front- and back-facing polygons, storing edges of the back-facing polygons into a SE buffer when the edge to be stored is different from those previously stored in the SE buffer, otherwise, erasing from the SE buffer the matching edge, storing the edges of the front-facing polygons into a CE buffer when the edge to be stored is different from those previously stored in CE buffer, otherwise, erasing from the CE buffer the matching edge when an included angle between normals of their polygons is smaller than a threshold, constructing mesh on the edges stored in the two buffers, and rendering the outlines of the object by the mesh.
