  • Publication number: 20060082297
Abstract: A method to make a polished lens-less light emitting diode array entails adhesively mounting light emitting diodes to an etched circuit board. Each diode has a cathode and an anode connected to the diode. A clear polymer is added to the top of each diode and allowed to harden. A black polymer is added to the circuit board to fill the space between the diodes. The black polymer hardens and then is polished to provide a polished, lens-less light emitting diode array with a uniform, level, non-light-scattering surface.

  • Publication number: 20060084005
Abstract: A continuous finishing operation that utilizes a method of slitting microencapsulation imaging media entails irradiating microencapsulated imaging media with a light sensitive side forming a first polymerization pattern. The light sensitive side comprises an emulsion with capsules containing leuco forming dyes suspended in a matrix containing developer. A frequency of visible energy is applied to the capsules to polymerize the capsules into the first polymerization pattern. The media is then slit among the first polymerization pattern. The media is irradiated a second time forming a second pattern and is slit forming a borderless print of a desired size.

  • Publication number: 20060040222
Abstract: Photothermographic materials are coated with thermally developable imaging layers on both sides of the support. Such materials can be arranged in association with one or more phosphor intensifying screens capable of providing emission at a predetermined wavelength in imaging assemblies. These imaging assemblies can be exposed to X-radiation and thereby form a latent image in the photothermographic material that can eventually be heat developed and used for medical diagnosis. The photothermographic materials contain an opaque material that acts as a crossover control agent that absorbs radiation at the predetermined wavelength, for example at 300 to 450 nm, and has limited absorption at higher wavelengths. When the photothermographic material is heated, the opaque material loses its opacity. Additional crossover control agents, such as UV-absorbing compounds, can also be added to the support or to an antihalation layer.

  • Publication number: 20060029387
Abstract: A pressure development apparatus for an image forming device includes a pair of pressure roller which define a nip portion there-between for the passage of photosensitive media to be developed. The media is of the type that includes microcapsules on an imaging side thereof. The pressure roller located on the non-imaging side of the media includes a non-metallic outer layer that reduces the amount of stress on a base of the media while permitting the application of a sufficient force by the pressure roller located on the imaging side of the media to rupture selected microcapsules.

  • Publication number: 20050285927
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image-forming device for processing photosensitive media. The photosensitive media is of the type that includes microcapsules that encapsulate imaging material such as coloring material. The image-forming device includes an exposure member that includes a digital projector that is adapted to simultaneously expose the full image area of media to be developed.

  • Publication number: 20050275823
Abstract: A cassette arrangement includes a light-tight, moisture proof pouch that is adapted to hold a stack of photosensitive sheets such as microencapsulated media and load the sheets into an image-forming device in a light tight manner.

  • Publication number: 20050259238
Abstract: An image-forming device comprises a rotating belt that includes a plurality of micro-members. The micro-members are preferably spherical members or hook and loop members. The rotating belt having the micro-members thereon is adapted to contact microencapsulated media with a force sufficient to rupture unhardened microcapsules on the media.

  • Publication number: 20050200678
Abstract: The present invention provides for a pressure development apparatus for an image forming device which includes a first pressure roller that has a width which is at least approximately equal to a media width of media to be developed and is adapted to apply pressure onto a surface of media to be developed. The development apparatus also includes at least a block-like member or a second roller mounted on top of the first pressure roller which is adapted to apply pressure onto the first pressure roller for the purpose of developing media to be developed. The block-like member or second pressure roller is effective to minimize any lateral deflection of the first pressure roller.

  • Publication number: 20050110975
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image-forming device that comprises a roller that includes a plurality of micromembers. The micromembers are preferably hook or loop-like members made of a compliant material such as plastic or rubber. The micromembers on the roller essentially define a compliant surface, which is self-correcting for unintentional media thickness variations within a print area. The roller is rotational such that when the roller contacts the media the rotational or spinning force is converted to a compressional force, which is sufficient to rupture the microcapsules in the media.
