Abstract: A system for identifying an illegitimate communication tag can include a first communication tag that transmits first communication signals, where the first communication signals include a first identification of the first communication tag. The system can also include a second communication tag that transmits second communication signals, where the second communication signals include the first identification. The system can further include electrical devices having receivers that receive the first communication signals and the second communication signals. The system can also include a controller communicably coupled to the electrical devices, where the controller analyzes the first communication signals to generate first information. • Publication number: 20210201101
Abstract: A system for assigning alternative identification to objects can include a first communication device of a first object, where the first communication device broadcasts a first communication signal that includes a first identification of the first object. The system can also include a first electrical device having a first receiver and a first transmitter, where the first receiver receives the first communication signal. The system can further include a controller communicably coupled to the first electrical device, where the controller retrieves the first identification of the first communication device from the first communication signal, assigns a first alternative identification to the first communication device based on the first identification, saves the first identification and the first alternative identification of the first object in a first table, and sends a second communication signal that includes the first alternative identification and the first identification of the first object.

  • Publication number: 20200096953
Abstract: A system can include multiple electrical devices that includes at least one sensor that measures a first parameter. The system can further include a controller communicably coupled to the electrical devices and the at least one sensor. The controller can receive a first measurement of a first parameter from at least one sensor, where the first measurement is associated with a first electrical device of the electrical devices; determine, based on the first measurement, that the first parameter falls outside a first range of acceptable values caused by a failure of the first electrical device; determine that adjusting at least one other electrical device compensates for the failure of the first electrical device; and adjust the at least one other electrical device from a default setting to a compensatory setting to compensate for the failure of the first electrical device.

  • Patent number: 10187693
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for controlling access to media content includes defining a viewing profile for at least one viewing user according to a multiplicity of attributes associated with the media content, assigning allowable limits to the multiplicity of attributes in the viewing profile, where each of the allowable limits indicates a rating limit for one of the multiplicity of attributes, receiving attribute ratings associated with a media content item, where each of the attribute ratings is associated with one of the multiplicity of attributes, determining viewing permissibility for the media content item by the at least one viewing user by comparing the attribute ratings with the allowable limits, and based on the viewing permissibility, allowing or disallowing the at least one viewing user to view the media content item.

  • Patent number: 7689794
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for reserve allocation of event data. A request event is received. The request event is associated with memory storing request event data. Memory for response event data is allocated from a first pool. The response event data is associated with a response, and the response is associated with the request. Upon failure of the allocation of memory for the response event data, memory is obtained for out-of-memory response event data. The out-of-memory response event data is associated with the response event. The request event is completed using the response event.

  • Publication number: 20090113473
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for navigation in data sets that can contain non-uniform fields. In one embodiment, data sets are defined by horizontal and vertical axes, and horizontal and vertical bias lines are calculated to determine which field is highlighted in response to vertical or horizontal navigation of the data set. In response to a user's navigation, at least one bias line is recalculated. Additional axes, for example a z-axis, and corresponding additional bias lines can be implemented. The invention can be practiced as an interactive program guide for a subscription television service. The fields of the program guide may not be uniform because programs listed in the program guide may have variable start times and/or durations, or because channel information may be redundant. The invention provides more predictable navigation within an interactive program guide. By reversing navigation movements, a user returns to a previously highlighted field.
