  • Patent number: 5244711
Abstract: Non-woven fabrics comprising yarn-like fiber groups of parallel and tightly compacted fiber segments, which define apertures in the fabric. The apertures have substantially improved clarity and the yarn-like fiber groups have increased density.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 4, 1992
Date of Patent: September 14, 1993
    Assignee: McNeil-PPC, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5098764
Abstract: Non-woven fabrics comprising yarn-like fiber groups of parallel and tightly compacted fiber segments, which groups include fiber segments circumferentially wrapped around at least a portion of the fiber groups. The groups are interconnected at junctures by fibers common to the plurality of such groups.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 12, 1990
Date of Patent: March 24, 1992

  • Patent number: 4639253
Abstract: A surgical sponge constructed of a nonwoven fabric is provided with an integral X-ray detectable element in the form of a yarn or monofilament which is positioned interiorly of the nonwoven fabric and in the plane thereof. The fabric is produced by placing the X-ray detectable element between two fibrous webs and subjecting the composite material to hydraulic entanglement to produce a patterned, nonwoven fabric.
    Type: Grant
