Alvin A. Siddall has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 8783371
Abstract: A process and apparatus of separating CO2 gas from industrial off-gas source in which the CO2 containing off-gas is introduced deep within an injection well. The CO2 gases are dissolved in the, liquid within the injection well while non-CO2 gases, typically being insoluble in water or brine, are returned to the surface. Once the CO2 saturated liquid is present within the injection well, the injection well may be used for long-term geologic storage of CO2 or the CO2 saturated liquid can be returned to the surface for capturing a purified CO2 gas.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 7, 2010
Date of Patent: July 22, 2014
Inventors: Gerald Blount, Alvin A. Siddal, Ronald W. Falta
  • Patent number: 7976628
Abstract: A process of manufacturing cement clinker is provided in which a clean supply of CO2 gas may be captured. The process also involves using an open loop conversion of CaO/MgO from a calciner to capture CO2 from combustion flue gases thereby forming CaCO3/CaMg(CO3)2. The CaCO3/CaMg(CO3)2 is then returned to the calciner where CO2 gas is evolved. The evolved CO2 gas, along with other evolved CO2 gases from the calciner are removed from the calciner. The reactants (CaO/MgO) are feed to a high temperature calciner for control of the clinker production composition.

Date of Patent: July 12, 2011
Assignees: Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC, Clemson University

  • Patent number: 6889920
Abstract: Disclosed is an elongated, tubular, compact high pressure sprayer apparatus for insertion into an access port of vessels having contaminated interior areas that require cleaning by high pressure water spray. The invention includes a spray nozzle and a camera adjacent thereto with means for rotating and raising and lowering the nozzle so that areas identified through the camera may be cleaned with a minimum production of waste water to be removed.
