    Abstract: A mechanism for preventing endless loop type cartridges from entering a cartridge type tape deck when the cartridge is in an orientation other than the single prescribed orientation. The embodiment is a lever mounted in the deck biased towards the insertion path of the cartridge to engage a notch in the side of the cartridge when the cartridge is inserted upside down.
