  • Patent number: 5533464
Abstract: An ornamental flag having a silhouette image and an improved flag suspension assembly. The flag has a substantially continuous border and an image therein. The image is provided with a substantial area of cut-out about its perimeter thereby presenting a silhouette of the image. A loop is provided along a substantial portion of the lower edge of the flag's width and/or length for receiving a flag pole thereby allowing the flag to swivel about the pole. In order to prevent the flag from sliding down the flag pole, a grommet having an internal elastomeric O-ring is positioned on the pole adjacent the inward edge of the flag. The O-ring preferably has an interior diameter slightly less than the exterior diameter of the pole such that the O-ring engages the flag pole in a tight frictional fit, but is slidable along the length of the flag pole.

  • Patent number: 5456956
Abstract: A garden ornament comprising a molded ceramic body member defining a cavity having a caudal opening. The body member has a base portion that engages the ground and the opening is proximate the base portion. A sack member having an opening is disposed within the cavity of the body member and contains a dense, granular aggregate, such as sand thereby providing a weighted base portion of the garden ornament. Additionally a stability enhancing member defining an elongated rod member having a first end defining a point for penetrating the ground and a second end received within said cavity thereby substantially preventing lateral movement of said garden ornament.

  • Patent number: 5242054
Abstract: An improved method for shipping a display rack loaded with packaged small fragile items to provide greater protection during shipment and to provide greater convenience to the retail vendor in displaying the packaged items. Multiple packages are pre-placed on the rack and the rack is wrapped with shrink-wrap. Heat is applied and the shrink-wrap contracts pulling the packages into each other and more tightly against the rack. This wrapping makes the rack and packages easier to pack for shipment, provides further shock protection and saves the retailer time and energy in displaying the small fragile items.

  • Patent number: 5114016
Abstract: A light-weight, portable, collapsible display stand for displaying a product or device, such as a ceiling fan, in a dynamic operating environment. Vertical supports are removably attached at the ends of a folding table, with a horizontal support at the upper ends of the vertical supports. An appliance, such as a ceiling fan, is removably attached to the upper horizontal support where it can be operated safely out of reach, with its effects being both seen and felt. An electrical power cable is run through one of the vertical supports and the horizontal support to the appliance mounted thereon.

  • Patent number: 5090570
Abstract: An improved package for protecting fragile item during shipment and subsequent display which allows the item contained therein to be viewed substantially about its perimeter. The package also protects the fragile item from mechanical shock. The package consists of an encapsulating shell member for receiving the fragile item, a board member interconnected with the shell member, a securing feature for securing the shell member to the board member and a shock absorbing feature for protecting the item from breakage due to mechanical shock. The package is reusable and allows for easy replacement of any component damaged during the packing of the item.
