    Abstract: A sports timing system for timing periods of a sporting event is provided. The sports timing system includes a signaling device, a transmitter, a receiver, and a controller. The signaling device includes a pressure transducer. The pressure transducer generates a first signal when pressure is applied to the pressure transducer. The transmitter receives the first signal and generates a second signal. The receiver receives the second signal and generates a third signal. The controller receives the third signal and actuates a timer event.
