  • Patent number: 4824618
Abstract: A process for coextrusion blowmolding of multilayer polymer articles, wherein a multilayer parison is extruded through a die, introduced into a mold, and blowmolded, the flow of multilayer plastic material being periodically interrupted, and additional plastic material being injected into the extrusion die at timed intervals, so that this additional material forms portion of the parison which later are trimmed from the molded article and reprocessed for reuse.

  • Patent number: 4731216
Abstract: Seamless, molded, thermoplastic articles having a laminar, multi-component composition with a heterogeneous blend of incompatible polymers--at least one as a matrix and at least one as a discontinuous phase, are manufactured by (1) heating the blend above the melting point of the highest melting polymer component, and (2) molding the melted blend to have a knit line curved through the thickness of the article resulting from such molding.

  • Patent number: 4677006
Abstract: Seamless, molded, thermoplastic articles are disclosed having a laminar, multi-component composition with a heterogeneous blend of incompatible polymers--at least one as a matrix and at least one as a discontinuous phase. Knit lines in the article are curved to obscure seams and increase strength.

  • Patent number: 4000906
Abstract: A two-speed automatic phonograph has a self-resetting, record-centering pilot to receive records having different size apertures therein. The records of different size apertures are to be operated at different playing speeds for reproduction of the sound tracks thereon. The speed at which the record is turned, i.e. 331/3 rpm or 45 rpm, is automatically controlled by sensing a characteristic of the record to be played. This will vary the frequency of a signal source which controls the speed of rotation of a synchronous motor which drives the record turntable at the proper playing speed. Also, the motor drive circuit includes means for applying a high voltage to the motor during startup thereof and for reducing the voltage applied to the motor during normal running while a record is being played.

  • Patent number: 3976301
Abstract: The embodiment of the invention disclosed herein is directed to a record selector mechanism which includes a plurality of spaced-apart records to be individually selected and played by a transducer. The plurality of spaced-apart records are secured by coupling means to a common support shaft element and simultaneously rotated at playing speed. A transducer member is secured to a transport mechanism to be positioned adjacent the record to be played. The transport mechanism includes means for urging the transducer in either one of two directions so as to engage a selected one of diametrically opposed record surfaces which are rotating. A slide pointer is mounted at the exterior of the housing and movable along a linear path and adjacent spaced-apart indicia. The indicia identifies the records within the phonograph system and the pointer is used to select the desired record. The slide mechanism includes an actuator to be manipulated when the slide is adjacent indicia corresponding to the desired record.

  • Patent number: 3967828
Abstract: The embodiment of the invention disclosed herein is directed to a record selector mechanism which includes a plurality of spaced-apart records to be individually selected from their storage position and transported to a playing position. The record selector mechanism has an arcuately movable playing station which scans the plurality of positions occupied by the records located in a storage position. The system also includes means for removing the record from the storage position and inserting it into rotating means for playing the record while the playing station remains in registry with the storage position. The rotating means includes diametrically opposed friction surfaces which are slightly angled relative to one another and include means to effect self-centering of the record.
