  • Patent number: 11497563
Abstract: A controller (240/340) for simultaneously tracking multiple interventional medical devices includes a memory (242/342) that stores instructions and a processor (241/341) that executes the instructions. When executed by the processor (241/341), the instructions cause the controller to execute a process that includes receiving timing information from a first signal emitted from an ultrasound probe (252/352) and reflective of timing when the ultrasound probe (252/352) transmits ultrasound beams to generate ultrasound imagery. The process executed by the controller also includes forwarding the timing information to be available for use by a first acquisition electronic component (232/332). The first acquisition electronic component (232/332) also receives sensor information from a first passive ultrasound sensor (S1) on a first interventional medical device (212/312).

  • Patent number: 11501566
Abstract: Various embodiments of a facial recognition system are provided. In one embodiment, a processor determines a value for a lighting parameter associated with a captured facial image, determines whether any previously obtained images in a biometric database includes a similar value for the lighting parameter and, if not, stores the newly captured image in the database along with the lighting parameter value. In another embodiment, the processor calculates a score indicative of the likelihood that the face in the captured facial image is identical to the face of a previously obtained image in the database, determines whether the score exceeds a threshold value and, if so, generates a signal indicating a match. The processor adjusts the threshold based on one or more parameter values.

  • Publication number: 20220358773
Abstract: A controller (522) for live annotation of interventional imagery includes a memory (52220) that stores software instructions and a processor (52210) that executes the software instructions. When executed by the processor (52210), the software instructions cause the controller (522) to implement a process that includes receiving (S210) interventional imagery during an intraoperative intervention and automatically analyzing (S220) the interventional imagery for detectable features. The process executed when the processor (52210) executes the software instructions also includes detecting (S230) a detectable feature and determining (S240) at add an annotation to the interventional imagery for the detectable feature. The processor further includes identifying (S250) a location for the annotation as an identified location in the interventional imagery and adding (S260) the annotation to the interventional imagery at the identified location to correspond to the detectable feature.

  • Publication number: 20220355179
Abstract: An exercise machine can include sensors to detect objects proximate to and/or moving towards the exercise machine. For example, a treadmill, or a control system associated with the treadmill, can determine an object is moving towards or is already proximate to a deck of the treadmill (e.g., a front area, middle area, or rear area of the deck of the treadmill) and modify operations of the treadmill in response to the determined or detected object or object movement. The treadmill can utilize various detection mechanisms when determining an object is within a proximity to the treadmill, such as time-of-flight (ToF) sensors or cameras, millimeter wave (mmWave) sensors, computer vision (CV) technology, and so on, to detect the proximity of the object (or movement of the object).

  • Patent number: 11493756
Abstract: Reduction or elimination of negative consequences of reflected stray light from lens surfaces is achieved by propagating a laser beam through an eccentric pupil that excludes the optical axis of the system, which is rotationally symmetric. In such systems, stray light reflections eventually are focused onto the unique optical axis of the system, in either a real or virtual focal region. By using an eccentric pupil, all damage due to focusing of the stray light lies outside of the beam. These focal regions can, e.g., be physically blocked to eliminate beam paths that lead to optical damage, re-pulse beams and parasitic lasing.

  • Patent number: 11479142
Abstract: A system receives historical vehicle battery data from a gateway device connected to a vehicle. Some vehicles with plug-in rechargeable batteries recommend/require that the vehicle computer be turned off when recharging. Thus, obtaining a current state of charge while a vehicle is charging can be difficult because the vehicle computer can be off. While the vehicle/gateway device is unable to transmit current battery data, the systems estimate a battery charge from the historical data.

  • Publication number: 20220330914
Abstract: A steerable multi-plane ultrasound imaging system (MPUIS) for steering a plurality of intersecting image planes (PL1 . . . n) of a beamforming ultrasound imaging probe (BUIP) based on ultrasound signals transmitted between the beamforming ultrasound imaging probe (BUIP) and an ultrasound transducer (S) disposed within a field of view (FOV) of the probe (BUIP). An ultrasound tracking system (UTS) causes the beamforming ultrasound imaging probe (BUIP) to adjust an orientation of the first image plane (PL1) such that a first image plane passes through a position (POS) of the ultrasound transducer (S) by maximizing a magnitude of ultrasound signals transmitted between the beamforming ultrasound imaging probe (BUIP) and the ultrasound transducer (S). An orientation of a second image plane (PL2) is adjusted such that an intersection (AZ) between the first image plane and the second image plane passes through the position of the ultrasound transducer (S).
