    Abstract: An article handling mechanism for attachment to warehouse trucks or the like includes an article loading platform, a frame secured to the loading platform forming a rack, a generally horizontal member which is movably mounted for vertical movement with respect to substantially perpendicular sides of the frame; and a horizontally movable ram which moves within the frame from front to rear for ejecting articles under compression. The horizontal member is movable toward the platform to compress articles loaded on the platform and is movable away from the platform to increase the loading area of the resultant rack.

    Abstract: A rack for stacking articles and maintaining stacked articles under compression for compact storage, includes upper and lower cooperating U-shaped members. The U-shaped members each include a horizontal support and a leg extending vertically from opposite ends of the horizontal support. The vertical legs of at least one of the upper and lower members cooperate with the vertical legs of the other of the upper and lower members for vertical adjustment of the upper member relative to the lower member. A device is provided for locking the upper and lower members from relative movement with each other, subsequent to adjustment of the upper and lower members.

    Abstract: A trailer including a vertically adjustable roof which can be raised and lowered by employing pneumatic or other types of jacks disposed on the side walls of the trailer. The jacks are positioned within the housings interposed between reinforcing ribs on the side walls. The housings and the jacks may be located on the inside or outside on the walls, or the housings may be mounted on the inside and the ribs on the outside of the walls of the trailer. The jacks generally extend down to about a mid-point on the side walls and the ribs generally extend the entire vertical length of the side walls. The roof preferably may be of a mesh configuration.
