  • Patent number: 6939029
Abstract: A modular light for decorative use on light strips on motorcycles or similar vehicle has an outer lens or light transmitting housing that forms an interior chamber. The chamber has an open side, and a light transmitting wall is opposite from the open side through which light will be transmitted. A circuit board carrying a plurality of LEDs is shaped to close the open side of the chamber in the light transmitting housing. The circuit board supports a reflector that has openings through which the LEDs protrude. The circuit board is secured in place in the light transmitting housing to form a modular light that be used in a number of locations. The modular light fits into a support housing on a light support strip or similar structure that will mount the modular light in desired locations on a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20030179087
Abstract: A mirror mounted turn signal for a vehicle having an exterior mirror has a light support housing that is attached to an outer side edge of the mirror. The light support housing mounts a LED strip of lights along an outer side of the support housing. The lights are positioned to direct light rearwardly and along the outer side of a housing wall. The housing wall extends rearwardly beyond the lights and is formed to provide an opaque shield to prevent light from shining in a selected direction. In the form shown the turn signal is on a motorcycle mirror and the eyes of a rider of the motorcycle are shielded from the flashing turn signal light. Super bright LEDs that are highly visible are used. Mounting the turn signal on the rear view mirror places the lights at a level so they are easily seen by drivers of vehicles along side and to the rear of the motorcycle.

  • Patent number: 5836555
Abstract: An improved industrial chair having a mechanism for adjusting the position of a support column in relation to a fixed platform, such as a chair base portion. The chair comprises a support column having an exterior surface with a plurality of engaging surfaces arranged along the length of the column for selectively engaging portions of a coupling. The coupling is shaped for selectively engaging the support column and positioning the support column relative to the fixed platform. The coupling has an inner surface shaped for contacting the support column engaging surfaces in a substantially matched shape friction fit, and the coupling further has an adjustable circumference structure for permitting selection between locking engagement and relative movement between the support column and the coupling. The chair further has structure suitable for operably retaining the coupling in fixed relation to the support platform.

  • Patent number: 5307771
Abstract: An intake assembly of the present invention delivers air to a carburetor of an internal combustion engine. The assembly includes a housing mountable on the carburetor and which encloses an air filter. A first port is formed within a wall of the housing to permit fluid communication between the housing and the carburetor. The first port is positioned between the air filter and the carburetor. A second port is formed in a wall of the housing to permit air to enter the housing. The second port is positioned relative to the air filter on a side opposite from the first port. A valve assembly is pivotably mounted within the second port such that the valve assembly is positionable to control an air flow through the second port. Means are provided for controlling the pivoting of the valve assembly.
