  • Patent number: 4832416
Abstract: The proposed vehicle brake system has a hydraulic brake booster, a master brake cylinder, wheel brakes and a pressure source for operating the brake booster. The vehicle brake system also has an anti-skid device, which comprises an auxiliary cylinder with an auxiliary piston and valve assemblies. In the anti-skid situation, the auxiliary piston is acted upon, controlled by one of the valve assemblies, and it acts counter to the brake booster and thereby lowers the pressure in the master brake cylinder. By stopping the valve assembly that is associated with a wheel threatening to skid, the brake pressure in the associated wheel brake drops. Valve assemblies are also further developed such that by including the valve assembly, drive slip at driven wheels can be limited by means of pressure from the pressure source.

  • Patent number: 4805965
Abstract: In a so-called starting aid for motor vehicles, synchronism in the rpm of the drive wheels during starting is provided by feeding a brake pressure derived from the rpm difference of the drive wheels into the wheel brake cylinder associated with the wheel having the higher rpm. To this end, one brake pressure controller having a control piston and a valve is installed in each brake line to the wheel brake cylinders of at least two wheel brakes. The control pistons are actuated in opposite directions via a final control element to which a control signal derived from the rpm difference is supplied. Upon displacement, whichever control piston is driven closes the valve and feeds brake pressure into the associated wheel brake cylinder. In order that the starting aid will have a high control speed and a small structural volume, the final control element is embodied as an electric control motor.

  • Patent number: 4765693
Abstract: A valve assembly for an anti-skid brake system has at least two valves disposed parallel to one another. Both valves are embodied in the manner of check valves having closing springs. To open the valves, there is an armature displaceable by an electromagnet; the armature opens the first valve automatically via a rigid opening tappet and opens the second valve, via another opening tappet and a spring associated with it, only when a pressure urging the second valve in the closing direction does not exceed a preselected pressure difference relative to an armature chamber. This has the advantage that despite the high pressure drop, the quantity of pressure fluid per unit of time that flows through the valve assembly does not exceed a preselected threashold value in the anti-skid regulation situation; on the other hand, without anti-skid operation, a rapid buildup of brake pressure is possible by furnishing a larger flow cross section.

  • Patent number: 4756331
Abstract: An electromagnetic valve has an armature, a plunger connected with the armature, a spring-biased valve body on which the plunger acts, a non-magnetic flange sleeve which guides the armature, a coil, a magnetic pole disc located opposite to the flange sleeve relative to the armature and attracting the armature with the plunger, the non-magnetic flange sleeve and the magnetic pole disc being interchangeable, and a spring which acts upon the armature, and is supported against the pole disc.

  • Patent number: 4579145
Abstract: A pressure control device, preferably for use in a control system of an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle, comprises a housing which accommodates a magnetic coil and an armature, and a control slide actuated by the armature and movable within a valve through which pressure medium to be controlled passes. A plunger carrying the armature is arranged coaxially to the magnetic coil within the housing and is supported at the both ends axially. A diaphragm spring is arranged at the end of the plunger facing toward the control slide. A pin loaded with the control pressure and arranged at the end of the control slide opposite to that facing the plunger acts on the control slide. A compression spring provided on the armature develops a force which acts against the force of the electric magnet and the hydraulic force which acts on the pin. The pressure control device is therefor suitable for controlling of considerably higher pressures and greater volumes of the pressure medium.
