Patent number: 12381783Abstract: Devices, systems, methods, and processes for determining enforcement readiness in a workload protection solution are described herein. Often, a user may desire to initiate enforcement on a network, but may not know if the various workloads, agents, or other components of the workload protection solution are in a condition to begin enforcement. As a result, embodiments described herein can generate an enforcement validation status or overall enforcement readiness determination by evaluating a plurality of different configurations, attributes, or other settings associated with any desired workloads subject to the policy to be enforced. Upon evaluation, a notification can be generated to the user in the form of a graphical user interface or other similar output device that is configured to show any determined error or issue preventing enforcement readiness. As a result, these can be addressed by a user until enforcement can be activated, easing the overall enforcement process.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2023Date of Patent: August 5, 2025Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Gabriel J. Fontenot, Paul Mach, Tony Lee, Brijeshkumar Ravindrakumar Shah, Furong Ma Gisiger, Edwin Gonzalez Urzua, Apurva Chhajed, Jana Radhakrishnan, Amandeep Singh

Publication number: 20250240202Abstract: Devices, systems, methods, and processes for facilitating a disaster recovery within a workload protection solution. As segmented networks increase in size, the probability of disasters or other events occurring increases. To allow for disaster recovery facilitation, network devices subject to disaster recover can be configured with similar or identical security identifications (or certificates). This can allow agents to easily travel and operate between various network devices. Target network devices are determined as subject to a disaster event and corresponding source network devices are sourced. Depending on the network devices affected, one or more of a variety of configurations can be replicated from the source network device(s) to the target network device(s). This replication can occur in response to a user prompt, a timed interval, a warning signal, or other connection issue that is determined. This disaster recovery replication can occur in series or in parallel between various network devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2024Publication date: July 24, 2025Inventors: Gabriel J. Publication number: 20250173168Abstract: Devices, systems, methods, and processes for facilitating new application onboarding within a workload protection solution is described herein. As new applications are introduced into a system, users or network administrators may not be knowledgeable on how to properly onboard the application sufficient to effect proper segmentation, monitoring, and the like. Without proper onboarding, the system may not be optimized and can become less optimal over time as new applications are added. By automating at least a portion of that process, a more optimal system can be achieved. This automation may be achieved through a series of prompts to the user to input various characteristics about the application that can be utilized to generate a recommended policy to apply to the application in order to onboard it into the system. The policy can be reviewed, confirmed, and applied through a graphical user interface or the like.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2023Publication date: May 29, 2025Inventors: Gabriel J. Fontenot, Paul Mach, Tony Lee, Brijeshkumar Ravindrakumar Shah, Janardhanan Radhakrishnan, Aamir Ahmed, Amandeep Singh, Apurva Chhajed

Publication number: 20250175500Abstract: Devices, systems, methods, and processes for facilitating a first-time user experience for a workload protection solution are described herein. This can be done through a segmentation setup assistant that can be configured to gather data related to a network and generate one or more prompts for a user to input data related to the network. This data can be associated with a network's organization, infrastructure, environment, and the like. For example, providing various internet protocol addresses and subnets related to different network devices, data centers, and applications can be utilized to generate an automated hierarchy and/or suggestions on how to properly segment and setup a network for workload protection. In this way, a user may be able to configure the system via the setup assistant and thus be more apt to correctly setup a network with a workload protection solution and provide a more optimal security outcome.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2023Publication date: May 29, 2025Inventors: Gabriel J.
