Abstract: A mobile computing device displays crime information of a street associated with a current location of the mobile computing device on a display of the mobile computing device. The mobile computing device communicates a request for crime information associated with the current location of the mobile computing device to at least one server and receives the requested crime information. The mobile computing device generates an augmented reality view of the current location by overlaying the requested crime information upon a live view of the current location on the display of the mobile computing device.

In one embodiment, a method for verifying a user for access to shared video footage is provided, the method comprising: receiving user input data from a user of a client device; determining whether the client device has enabled location services; upon a determination that the client device has not enabled location services, transmitting the user input data to a third-party verification service and determining that the user is verified upon receiving a confirmation from the third-party verification service that the user input data is accurate; and upon a determination that the client device has enabled location services, identifying a client device location and determining that the user is verified using the user input data and the client device location.
