  • Publication number: 20180220269
Abstract: Various features related to methods and apparatus for supporting broadcast services, e.g., emergency and/or commercial broadcast messages, over LANs, are described. In some configurations broadcast of emergency related messages is offloaded from a cellular network/WWAN to a WLAN, for transmission to devices over the WLAN thereby reducing the overload and/or cost associated with cellular networks and/or extending the emergency broadcast services to users who maybe out of WWAN coverage. Various configurations are described for routing of broadcast messages from the WWAN nodes to a WLAN AP via a WWAN ePDG. The WLAN AP may receive an emergency broadcast message from the ePDG, and broadcast the received emergency broadcast message in a data frame to at least one UE. The emergency broadcast message maybe routed through one or more of a CBC, an MME, an SGW, or a PGW to the ePDG.

  • Publication number: 20180161090
Abstract: An all-in-one, light-weight navigated bipolar forceps allow the surgeon to stay focused on and not have to take their eyes off the surgical site that (s)he is operating on, such as the brain. The navigated bipolar forceps would have a navigated frame that would be positioned at the superior end of the bipolar forceps instrument. Like conventional bipolar forceps, the navigated bipolar forceps of the present invention may be useful for various procedures, such as bipolar electro surgery. The navigated frame would be incorporated into the instrument to provide an all-in-one solution that requires fewer instruments in the surgical field and retains the surgeon's focus on the surgical site. The navigated frame of the forceps can be designed to wirelessly connect to a machine for the navigational purposes. Software can be provided that permits the navigated bipolar forceps to support the instrument on various hospital-owned navigation machines.

  • Patent number: 9912818
Abstract: A customer may be allowed to request a service and to very quickly be put in touch with a local service provider who can perform the requested service. The customer need not know the identity of the vendor beforehand, and the vendor may not know the identity of the customer before agreeing to discuss the service. Multiple local service providers may be contacted in parallel by a centralized server configured to connect the customer with the local service providers. The most qualified or most highly rated local service providers for the particular service may be identified and then contacted first. The customer may be put in touch with one or more vendors in a very short amount of time after submitting the request, e.g., within 90 seconds.

  • Publication number: 20160034995
Abstract: The current document is directed to methods and systems that identify projects for which service consumers desire service provision and identify available candidate service providers that best match various project parameters and service-provision criteria determined by the automated system. Information describing the identified candidate service providers is presented to the service consumers by the systems to allow service consumers in order to facilitate their selection of service providers and scheduling of service provision. In one described implementation, service providers are matched to stock-keeping-unit (“SKU”) identifiers and location or locations. Service providers identified in the initial SKU-and-location-based matching process are then scored and ranked according to additional criteria and constraints, with information describing the highest-ranked service candidate providers provided to service consumers for selection and scheduling.
