Each region includes a cavity; a removable container positioned in each cavity; three slot-shaped openings in the front section. Each slot-shaped opening is aligned with an opening in a removable container for providing a path for the paper-based transaction items to the removable container. A sensor in each cavity or container senses the paper-based transaction items received via a slot-shaped opening into the container.
