  • Patent number: 4221528
Abstract: Set out herein is a modification to an automobile comprising a plurality of attachment channels deployed either on the interior of a hood or a trunk lid, each attachment channel being conformed to receive a telescoping bar to which a block and tackle may be attached for lifting heavy items like spare tires and the like. The hood or trunk lid may be further modified to include two pivoted braces which may be deployed against serrated supports attached to the automobile body. Thus the hood surface itself becomes part of the lifting structure allowing for convenient withdrawal of heavy items. This lifting structure may be utilized together with a fishnet or canvas sling conformable to various shapes to extend the utility thereof for lifting objects other than the spare tire.

  • Patent number: 4065133
Abstract: A golf club that may be either a wood, iron or putter that has a number of spaced grooves formed in the head thereof that are substantially normal to the ball striking surface of the head. The grooves, when the club is swung, serve as passages or ducts through which air flows to impart improved flight stability to the head. The grooves on the bottom or sole of the club head, not only serve the above function, but minimize the surface of the head that may contact the ground surface just prior to the striking surface of the head impacting a golf ball. Due to this lessened sole surface, the frictional drag between it and the ground surface is lessened, and kinetic energy in the head that would otherwise be dissipated by frictional drag with the ground surface is transferred to the golf ball to increase the distance the latter is driven.

  • Patent number: 4008896
Abstract: A golf club head weight adjustor assembly that includes an elongate tube of a resilient material that has first and second ends, and the tube capable of being removably disposed in an elongate cavity in the club head that is substantially parallel to the ball striking surface of the head. The tube has first radial openings adjacent the ends thereof. A number of longitudinally spaced, radial, second openings are defined in the tube that are transversely aligned with third radial openings. Rigid weight balls, each of a fourth diameter greater than that of the second openings, can be forced radially through the second opening into the bore of the tube to be frictionally gripped by the latter and occupy a fixed longitudinal position therein. A closure removably engages the head to close the cavity to maintain the weight adjuster within the confines of the latter. A tool is included as a part of the assembly, which tool has a pin and hook formed as an integral part thereof.
