Abstract: Compact surveillance device including a miniature television camera mounted with its optical axis vertical, and a mirror mounted above the lens so that the camera views the area to be surveyed, such as the area outside the door of an office, through a window in the front of the body of the device. The mirror is pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis and can be moved slowly about the axis by an electric motor to provide a "scanning" effect, so that the device scans the surveillance area with an up-and-down movement.
