  • Patent number: 7184160
Abstract: A spam fax filter which has been configured in accordance with the present invention can include a fax transformation processor configured to transform rasterized fax images into non-rasterized representations of fax images. The spam fax filter further can include a knowledge base of known spam characteristics. Finally, the spam fax filter can include a comparator configured to compare non-rasterized representations of fax images produced by the fax transformation processor to the characteristics in the knowledge base to detect spam fax in the spam fax filter.

  • Patent number: 7154625
Abstract: An optimal call routing system and method based upon pre-configured heuristics. In one aspect of the invention, a heuristic routing method can be provided in which a request to transmit an electronic document to a target destination can be received. A set of statistics associated with the target destination can be retrieved from a data store. A heuristically optimal route can be selected from the set of statistics through which the electronic document can be transmitted to the target destination. Subsequently, the electronic document can be transmitted to the target destination over the selected heuristically optimal route. Finally, statistics relating to the transmission can be collected and stored in the data store.

  • Patent number: 7114004
Abstract: A premium messaging exchange. The premium messaging exchange can include a list of destinations supported by the premium messaging exchange. Each record in the list can include a specified destination, and a supporting external messaging system. Finally, the premium messaging exchange can include an interface to the list which can be accessed by querying external messaging systems and through which supporting external messaging systems can be identified for specific destination addresses provided by the querying external messaging systems through the interface.

  • Publication number: 20050254100
Abstract: A fax transmission system configured to combat spam in a fax network. The system can include a fax transmission processsor coupled to a ticket service and configured to transmit selected facsimile images only when the ticket service validates corresponding ones of tickets issued by the ticket service. Notably, both the fax transmission processor and the ticket service can be disposed in a broadcast fax network.

  • Patent number: 6732121
Abstract: A method for reducing required memory capacity and creation of a database. In order to reduce the storage requirement of a database, the invention provides for, non-color information units to be stored to be assigned to the points of intersection of an at least two-dimensional raster matrix which spans a color space, individual color values being assigned to the information units located in the raster matrix and the image matrix thus formed being stored, preferably after image compression, as a database or part of a database.
