Abstract: An atomic magnetometer, and a method for using same is disclosed. The method for measuring an ambient magnetic field uses an atomic magnetometer that has a probe light beam with a probe axis that probes a polarization vector of an atomic population confined within a vapor cell. The method employs one or more measurement cycles. In each measurement cycle, the polarization vector is prepared in an initial state via an optical pumping pulse. The vapor cell is then subjected to the ambient magnetic field, which results in rotation of the polarization vector by Larmor precession. Within the measurement cycle, at a point in time after the polarization vector has been prepared in the initial state, the ambient magnetic field rotates the direction of the polarization vector, and at least one measurement is made of a projection of the Larmor-rotated polarization vector onto the probe axis during or after application of a magnetic waveform.

Abstract: A system provides for management of a managed infrastructure. A processor is coupled to various engines. An extraction engine is in communication with the managed infrastructure. The extraction engine in operation receives messages from the managed infrastructure, produces events that relate to the managed infrastructure and converts the events into words and subsets used to group the events into clusters that relate to failures or errors in the managed infrastructure, including managed infrastructure physical hardware. The managed infrastructure supports the flow and processing of information. A sigalizer engine includes one or more of an NMF engine, a k-means clustering engine and a topology proximity engine.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates displaying calendar information on a display. The system operates by displaying a status bar in a location on the display, which does not preclude other content from being displayed simultaneously. In addition, the system displays a calendar timeline including calendar information in the status bar, wherein one end of the calendar timeline represents a beginning of a displayed time period and an opposite end of the calendar timeline represents an end of the displayed time period. Moreover, the status bar is continuously viewable to a user regardless of what other content is being displayed on the display.
