  • Publication number: 20230299801
Abstract: Some embodiments relate to systems and methods for capacity based DPD optimization. An example method of capacity based DPD optimization includes choosing a DPD adaptation stimulus to facilitate a SNR estimation. The example method also includes initializing DPD coefficients based on setting the DPD coefficients to an initial guess. Additionally, the example method includes estimating the SNR and calculating the cost function based on the estimated SNR; The example method also includes numerically optimizing the DPD coefficients and updating the DPD coefficient set based on the numerical optimization.

  • Patent number: 10367546
Abstract: A communication system operative for transmitting over a communication channel. The communication channel being susceptible to crosstalk from at least a second communication system different from the communication system. The communication system includes at least one transceiver pair. At least the a first transceiver of the transceiver pair includes a first analog from end and a first shaping filter coupled with the analog front end. The first analog front end at least includes a programmable gain amplifier. The attenuation of the first shaping filter in the overlapping frequency range is higher than the attenuation in the non-overlapping frequency range.

  • Patent number: 8823499
Abstract: A power unit includes an AC/DC converter for converting VAC input to DC, a zero cross unit for modulating the AC/DC converter output to facilitate zero crossing detection based on the output, and a high pass filter (HPF) for filtering data signals, where the data signals are transmitted and received on the same medium from which the VAC input is received. A method for providing power and data signals from a single powerline source, including receiving incoming VAC in an external power unit, converting the incoming VAC to DC, modulating the DC in accordance with zero crossings from the incoming VAC, filtering the VAC to isolate high frequency data signals, where the data signals are transmitted and received on a same medium from which the incoming VAC is received, and providing the DC, modulated DC, and data signals to an embedded processing unit capable of processing the data signals.

  • Patent number: 7133441
Abstract: A system for transporting a high speed data stream over a plurality of relatively low bandwidth unshielded twisted copper pairs within the local loop plant or in any environment having a plurality of copper lines, such as on campuses, within large buildings, etc. The copper twisted pairs are transformed from a plurality of low bandwidth, low reliability links into a high reliability, very high bandwidth long range communication channel utilizing optimized xDSL transmission technologies over the plurality of copper pairs. A transmit data processor perform scrambling, FEC encoding and interleaving on the data before it is divided and dispatched to the plurality of modem elements for transmission over the local loop plant, either bidirectionally or unidirectionally. On the receiving side, the individual data streams are collected, aggregated and a receive data processor performs de-interleaving, FEC decoding and de-interleaving, resulting in the high speed data stream originally transmitted.
