Publication number: 20250047671Abstract: Systems and methods of controlling a point of sale (POS) device are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a method comprises, by a first network node that is operationally coupled to a POS device over a one-to-one connection, with the POS device being operable to receive commands related to secured and unsecured functions of the POS device that are sent to the first network node over the network and then conditionally sent by the first network node to the POS device over the one-to-one connection, receiving, from the second network node, an indication that includes both a command related to the POS device and a network node identifier associated with the second network node so that the first network node is enabled to authorize the second network node to send the command to the POS device based on the network node identifier and an authorized network node identifier.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 17, 2024Publication date: February 6, 2025Applicant: Solutions Holdings CorporationInventors: Sharon Freedman, Amir Najari, Monsak Chirakansakcharoen, Steve Chandler, Mina Lee

Publication number: 20170265027Abstract: A method for identifying shopper locations and providing enhanced shopper services is provided. The method includes transmitting a beacon having information identifying a printer, from the printer and detecting the beacon and the information identifying the printer, with a mobile device. The method includes sending the information identifying the printer from the mobile device to a cloud service and receiving location aware information from the cloud service into the mobile device, wherein the cloud service determines a location of the mobile device as within a beacon-detection vicinity of the printer associated with the information identifying the printer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2016Publication date: September 14, 2017Inventors: Amir Najari, Daniel Adolf Lehotsky, Christopher Wu

Publication number: 20170262243Abstract: A method for identifying a printer and printing is provided. The method includes transmitting, from each of a plurality of printers, a wireless beacon. The method includes receiving, at a printer, an instruction from a mobile device to print information, wherein the instruction is received via a wireless network, the mobile device determining, based on radio signal strength of wireless beacons, which of the plurality of printers is closest to the mobile device and selecting and coupling to the printer via the wireless network to send the instruction to the printer. The method includes printing, at the printer selected by the mobile device, the information in accordance with the instruction.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2016Publication date: September 14, 2017Inventors: Amir Najari, Christopher Wu, Gerhard Bork

Publication number: 20170262739Abstract: A method for registering a printer to a cloud service is provided. The method includes coupling a mobile device to a printer, via a wireless connection and sending at least a serial number from the printer to the mobile device via the wireless connection. The method includes obtaining geolocation information from the mobile device and registering the serial number of the printer and the geolocation information, associated with the printer, to a cloud service, using the mobile device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2016Publication date: September 14, 2017Inventors: Daniel Adolf Lehotsky, Amir Najari, Christopher Wu

Patent number: 8406500Abstract: Simultaneous scanning of multiple checks. In one example embodiment, a method for simultaneous scanning of multiple checks with a flatbed scanner includes several acts. First, a front side of a transparent sleeve is scanned on a flatbed scanner in order to create a first image. The sleeve has multiple pockets with a check positioned in each pocket. The sleeve further has multiple alignment markings on the front side and on a back side of the sleeve. Next, the back side of the sleeve is scanned on the flatbed scanner in order to create a second image. Then, it is determined from the respective positions of the alignment markings on the first image and on the second image that the sleeve was rotated between scans. Finally, one of the first and second images is automatically rotated to match the other image in order to align each front/back check image pair.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2010Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Amir Najari, Kenneth Fang, William Gugg, Thomas Kettell
