  • Publication number: 20240005750
Abstract: Systems, machines, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for detecting an event at a self-checkout (SCO) machine, determining that the event is an item-identifying event, triggering capture of image data of the item identified by the item-identifying event responsive to detecting the event and/or responsive to determining that the event is an item-identifying event, and generating enhanced item identification data that associates the captured image data with identifying information of the item. The enhanced item identification data may be stored in one or more datastores, which may include a local datastore in a retail environment in which a self-checkout machine is located or a remote datastore such as cloud-based data storage.

  • Publication number: 20220226509
Abstract: A example compound according to the present disclosure includes, among other possible things, a nanodot carrier, a moiety, and a linker having first and second functional groups, wherein the first functional group is covalently linked to the nanodot carrier, and the second functional group is covalently linked to the moiety. An example method of making a nanodot carrier is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160055321
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system that can enter clinical data on an electronic tooth chart. A graphical data input can be received from an ink-over interface. The graphical data input can include an annotation associated with a tooth. Information associated with the annotation can be determined based on information stored in a recognition engine and stored as structured data associated with the tooth.

  • Publication number: 20160034646
Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a system that can enter clinical data on an electronic medical chart. A graphical data input can be received from an ink-over interface. The graphical data input can include an annotation associated with a portion of a patient's body. Information associated with the annotation can be determined based on information stored in a recognition engine and stored as structured data associated with the portion of the patient's body in an electronic health record.

  • Publication number: 20060265502
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and apparatus for internally initialized, profile-driven data transfer and propagation. In one embodiment, a data transfer and propagation method can include receiving a request from a pervasive device to upload data to a registration server. The method also can include locating a default entry within a profile for the pervasive device and storing the data in a default location for the registration server as specified by the default entry. Finally, the method can include determining from the request whether or not to propagate the data to other registration servers, and responsive to a determination to propagate the data, propagating the data to other registration servers specified in the profile.

  • Publication number: 20060239434
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for on-demand phone number updating. A system for on-demand phone number updating can include a smooth number transition (SNT) call routing table mapping prior telephone numbers to new telephone numbers for corresponding SNT subscribers. The system further can include an SNT processor linked to the SNT routing table and communicatively coupled to switch logic in a PSTN. Finally, the system can include at least one SNT update table indicating whether different callers associated with a particular SNT subscriber have received an update for a new telephone number for the particular SNT subscriber. For instance, the SNT update table can be coupled to the server-side SNT processor, for instance as part of the SNT routing table, or the SNT update table can be disposed in a telephone system for the particular SNT subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20060168122
Abstract: Middleware application for managing communication between a client and a web service so that changes in the web service information, such as a change in the web service location, are addressed by the middleware application is disclosed. A developer registers web services in a repository. The middleware application generates a web service proxy based on web service information entered in the repository, and generates a new web service proxy when the web service information changes. The developer can then write code for client applications without the need to change code when changes are made in the web service information. Responsive to a client request, the middleware application accesses the repository to match the request with a web service. The middleware application transmits the request through the web service proxy to the web service.

  • Publication number: 20050091366
Abstract: Under the present invention, a test configuration is provided. The test configuration sets forth a particular enterprise computer architecture of nodes, servers and resources, as well as a quantity of components/beans for an application. Thereafter, the application is generated using a template to replicate the provided quantity of components/beans, and is deployed, installed and started on the application server(s). After the application is started, a client program generated based on the test configuration is run against the application. Throughout the process, (e.g., as the application is being deployed, installed and started, and while the client program is being run), certain performance metrics are monitored to determine the scalability of the application server(s).
