  • Publication number: 20240357415
Abstract: Techniques described herein include solutions for adaptively handling transport blocks (TBs) based on current memory backpressure conditions. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) monitors a memory backpressure associated with an application processor of the UE. A baseband processor of the UE may receive a plurality of TBs (e.g., from a base station). Based on the memory backpressure, the UE may choose to only decode TBs having certain prioritized data types, and drop or ignore the remaining TBs. For example, the UE may drop certain low priority TBs destined for the application processor, which alleviates the memory backpressure by allowing the application processor to process piled up TBs causing the memory backpressure. In addition, this frees memory in the baseband processor, allowing the UE to handle high priority TBs used for essential functions (e.g., connection and synchronization with the network) in high memory backpressure scenarios.

  • Publication number: 20240314826
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for transmitting credits in a downlink (DL) that include detecting adversity associated with the DL, e.g., network congestion, high CPU loads, thermal threshold of components, etc. In response to the adversity, a policy is determined that includes a number of ranked rules, and the policy is enabled. A baseband (BB) receives an indication of a number of available credits that may be received by an Application Processor (AP), and a number of credits equal to the number of available credits is downloaded based on the policy. The policy may include performing a first pass and a second pass of credit distribution to ensure fairness, while maintaining the respective priority levels of applications serviced in the DL.

  • Patent number: 10200724
Abstract: Described are techniques for selecting an audio device from a group of devices to function as a master device that receives data from a remote source and distributes the data to other devices within the group. Each device is used for this purpose at least once to determine at least one data throughput value attainable by the device. Based the data throughput values for the devices, signal strength data for the devices, and characteristics of the devices themselves, a master device and a length of time that the audio device is to be used as the master device is determined. Other lengths of time that other devices are to be used temporarily as master devices may also be determined. As additional data throughput values are determined from each instance that a device is used, the determined master device and the lengths of time that each device is used may change.

  • Publication number: 20160066253
Abstract: Embodiments include systems and methods of controlling access to radio access protocol stacks within a communication device using a single parameter command. A processor of a communication device may send to a modem an attention (AT) parameter command that includes a parameter identifying two or more protocol stacks from among a plurality of protocol stacks of the communication device. The modem may use the included parameter to identify the protocol stacks from which modem information is to be obtained, and access the information indicated in the AT parameter command. The processor may receive from the modem information related to each of the two or more protocol stacks identified in the parameter included in the AT parameter command.

  • Publication number: 20160050618
Abstract: Embodiments include systems and methods of controlling access to radio access protocol stacks within a subscription. A processor of a communication device may establish a connection to a communication network under a subscription associated with the communication device. The processor may select a protocol stack from among two or more protocol stacks associated with the subscription to communicate with the communication network. The processor may send an attention command to the selected protocol stack within the subscription.
