Publication number: 20240108839Abstract: An interface for positive pressure respiratory therapy includes a mask assembly having a mask seal and a mask shell. The mask assembly is positioned lower than and exposes a bridge of the user's nose. The mask seal includes first and second portions on respective first and second sides of a nasal region that contact opposing sides of the user's nose. The first and second portions each include supports that help maintain a shape of the mask seal. A pair of covers can be supported relative to the mask assembly and adjacent a respective one of the first and second portions of the mask seal. The covers limit expansion of the first and second portions of the mask seal in response to pressurized air within the mask seal. The supports of the first and second portions can transfer load from the mask seal to the covers.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Fadi Karim Moh'd Mashal, Kirstin Elizabeth Middelkoop, Roheet Patel, Peter David Alexander Bearne, Mark Andrew Thompson, Amit Galgali, Michael John Henri Cox, Gregory James Olsen, Mark Arvind McLaren, Max Leon Betteridge, Bruno Sintive

Publication number: 20220193361Abstract: A respiratory mask system is provided. The respiratory mask system has a patient interface that is secured to a user's head by a headgear. The patient interface comprises a seal, a frame and a gas delivery conduit. The frame is configured to secure the seal and gas delivery conduit together. The frame comprises a recessed channel and/or headgear retaining features configured to connect the headgear to the patient interface. The frame can include an inlet collar that connects to a gas delivery conduit. The inlet collar can include bias flow holes. The headgear comprises a top strap, a pair of side arms, a yoke and a rear strap. The yoke is configured to connect to the recessed channel of the frame. The top strap, side arms and yoke form an integrally formed closed loop. The top strap can include two portions adjustably connected to each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2021Publication date: June 23, 2022Inventors: Ryan Anthony Graham, Callum Ross Gordon, Amit Galgali, Mark Andrew Thompson, Bruno Sintive, Vicky Dan Gao, Cameron Robert Willis, Jake Baker Hocking, Priyanka Ferdinand Pereira

Publication number: 20210244906Abstract: A nasal seal for a respiratory interface comprises a supple lower-nose-receiving center part having a concave shape pre-formed to receive and sealingly contact the tip, lower sides, and base of the nose and sealingly contact the upper lip, and position an aperture for gas flow beneath the nares of wearer. The seal may have resilience or memory towards this preformed shape.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2020Publication date: August 12, 2021Inventors: Silas Sao Jin Siew, Amit Galgali, Ryan Anthony Graham, Mark Andrew Thompson, Olivia Marie Allan, Bruno Sintive

Publication number: 20210244905Abstract: A nasal seal, mask or an interface assembly have a seal body defining a breathing chamber. A nasal port is provided in the seal body. The nasal port has a central portion straddled by a pair of lateral portions. The nasal port further has an upper edge and a lower edge. The upper edge defines an inwardly projecting portion within the central portion. The lower edge defines an inwardly protection portion within the central portion. Thus, the nasal port can be generally bean-shaped or bowtie-shaped. The mask can include a frame having a central portion that supports the seal and a pair of arm portions that extend rearwardly of the seal and are configured to connect to headgear. The central portion can be more rigid than the arm portions. The mask can be configured to reduce noise transmitted through a bias flow vent.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2021Publication date: August 12, 2021Inventors: Amit Galgali, Bruno Sintive, Callum Ross Gordon, Mark Andrew Thompson, Ryan Anthony Graham, Mark Arvind McLaren
