  • Patent number: 6955805
Abstract: The invention relates to mascara compositions comprising a plant extract, especially, an apple extract component dispersed in a silicone oil. These mascaras can also contain a fiber component unrelated to the fiber content of the fruit extract. The fiber component, when it is charged, is capable of aligning itself with the natural direction of the eyelashes when an antistatic component is also present. The mascaras contain a natural ingredient of apple extract and are not tacky.

  • Publication number: 20040120975
Abstract: A perfluorinated oil-in-water biliquid foam is provided as a vehicle for delivering cosmetics and active agents while producing a refreshing and unique contact with the skin, and enhancing the aroma of fragrances within the foam. The biliquid foam contains an oil phase perfluorinated solvent, surfactants, co-solvents, and oil-based ingredients such as aromatic extracts, and a water phase with anionic or hydrophilic surfactants. The biliquid foam may be made by gradually increasing addition of the oil phase to the water phase under moderate mixing conditions. Various other auxillary cosmetic and non-cosmetic components such as vitamins, anti-oxidants, stabilizers, thickeners, dyes, moisturizers, and preservatives may be added to the biliquid foam as well.

  • Patent number: 6387405
Abstract: The present invention relates to cosmetic compositions for topical application to the skin. The compositions comprise an organopolysiloxane elastomer dispersed in a hydrocarbon vehicle. The present invention also includes a cosmetic composition comprising a silicone gel combined with a compatible cosmetically acceptable carrier where the silicone gel comprises the elastomer dispersed in the vehicle. The compositions of the invention are transfer resistant and produce a unique soft and powdery sensation on the skin due to the combination of the elastomer with the hydrocarbon vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20010055600
Abstract: The invention relates to long-wearing cosmetic compositions comprising an acrylic acid derived polymer or copolymer and at least one water soluble organic pigment. The polymer or copolymer can be in the form of an emulsion. The compositions are long lasting, water resistant and exhibit substantially indelible qualities. Further, the compositions will not smear, run or settle in the lines and creases of the skin. These compositions are useful as eyeliners, other cosmetic products, or as body paints.
