  • Patent number: 9088428
Abstract: Applications in a broadcast environment distribute events in real-time to a large number of receivers within specified geographic locations while efficiently sharing bandwidth resources with other applications using the same broadcast network. Applications need not be aware of the other applications sharing the resources, nor of the methods, protocols, and other mechanisms used to actually broadcast the data over the broadcast medium. Server-side applications that serve data, send notifications, or distribute events to specific locations within the network use a broadcast location manager. Client applications that receive such data, notifications, or events use a client location filter to obtain events that are relevant based on the location of the device. The broadcast location manager and client location filter work together to reliably and efficiently transmit data, notifications, and events to specific locations over the broadcast network for all applications involved.

  • Publication number: 20150201178
Abstract: Stereoscopic video data and corresponding depth map data for stereoscopic and auto-stereoscopic displays are coded using a coded base layer and one or more coded enhancement layers. Given a 3D input picture and corresponding input depth map data, a side-by-side and a top-and-bottom picture are generated based on the input picture. Using an encoder, the side-by-side picture is coded to generate a coded base layer Using the encoder and a texture reference processing unit (RPU), the top-and-bottom picture is encoded to generate a first enhancement layer, wherein the first enhancement layer is coded based on the base layer stream, and using the encoder and a depth-map RPU, depth data for the side-by-side picture are encoded to generate a second enhancement layer, wherein the second enhancement layer is coded based on to the base layer. Alternative single, dual, and multi-layer depth map delivery systems are also presented.

  • Publication number: 20150200125
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to methods for forming a flowable carbon-containing film on a substrate. In one embodiment, an oxygen-containing gas is flowed into a remote plasma region to produce oxygen-containing plasma effluents, and a carbon-containing gas is combined with the oxygen-containing plasma effluents in a substrate processing region which contains the substrate. A carbon-containing film is formed in trenches which are formed on the substrate and a low K dielectric material is deposited on the carbon-containing film in the trenches. The carbon-containing film is decomposed by an UV treatment and airgaps are formed in the trenches under the low K dielectric material.

  • Patent number: 9081078
Abstract: In providing a wireless location communication service including a location based service to a user of a mobile device, the mobile device sends information concerning a location of the device relative to a given position in a wireless communication system. The given position may be that of a base station in the system. First information concerning a location of the base station (e.g, GPS information) is communicated to the mobile device, e.g., via broadcast. The mobile device determines second information concerning its location, e.g., based on signals from GPS satellites received thereby. The mobile device then generates relative location information based at least on the first and second information.

  • Patent number: 9081051
Abstract: The problem of high test cost of manufactured goods can be partially solved by lowering the percentage of the goods to be tested methodically while keeping the total defective portion of the goods expressed in DPPM below a preset target value. The method includes identifying a first test that is capable of screening out enough parts that would fail a second test so that the portion of the parts to be tested second test can be reduced. The number of parts screened out by the first test determines if the reduced testing scheme would violate the preset DPPM target value.
