    Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a hydrogen-permeable membrane, which includes a proton-conducting ceramic material and a electron-conducting metallic component. The membrane is deposited by means of plasma spraying as a layer on a substrate, wherein a starting material is sprayed onto a surface of the substrate in the form of a process beam and wherein the starting material is injected into a plasma at a low process pressure, which is 10 000 Pa at the most, which defocuses the process beam at a low process pressure, and is melted partly or completely there.
