  • Patent number: 7310697
Abstract: The dynamic VBUS power source provides a system and method for dynamically powering USB devices. Briefly described, one embodiment is a method comprising determining when the USB device is a master device or a slave device, powering the USB device over a USB connector using a power unit when the USB device is the slave device, and powering a second USB device over the USB connector using the USB device when the USB device is the master device.

  • Publication number: 20070076116
Abstract: A digital imaging device such as a digital camera has an imaging-sensor clock that may be adjusted dynamically in accordance with lighting conditions measured through feedback from the imaging sensor. Selecting a relatively higher clock frequency under bright conditions provides shorter shutter delay, and selecting a relatively lower clock frequency under dim conditions helps to reduce electrical noise. Dynamic adjustment of the clock frequency in this manner can also reduce power consumption, thereby extending battery life.

  • Publication number: 20050242768
Abstract: Devices sharing battery charging resources coordinate use of a high-current charging mode through use of a message protocol between the devices. While a high-priority device is using the high-current charging mode, the other devices may continue charging in a reduced-current charging mode.
