  • Patent number: 6666229
Abstract: A fill valve assembly for a toilet tank which reduces the fluid noise associated with filling of the tank. The fill assembly includes a fill tube mounted within the tank for delivering water. A fill housing is mounted to the upper end of the fill tube and includes a fill valve operably connected to a float. The float will open the valve when the water in the tank drops below a predetermined level and shuts off the valve when the fluid reaches the level. The interior of the housing includes structure for forming a laminar fluid flow out of the valve which reduces the fluid noise associated with filling the tank.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 27, 2002
Date of Patent: December 23, 2003
    Assignee: Brass-Craft Manufacturing Company

  • Patent number: 6450195
Abstract: A fill valve assembly for a toilet tank including a vertical standpipe, a pilot valve assembly located at the top end of the standpipe, and a vertically movable float which is connected to the pilot valve assembly. The pilot valve assembly opens the valve assembly when the float moves vertically downward and closes the valve assembly when the float moves vertically upward.

  • Patent number: 6354518
Abstract: A shower head having a water inlet passage or providing a supply of water to the shower head and a plurality of nozzles for expelling water from the shower head. The flow of water from the water inlet passage to the nozzles is controlled by a pressure actuated toggle valve mechanism. The valve mechanism is in communication with a rotatable faceplate used to control both the water flow and the texture of the shower spray. The faceplate is rotatably adjustable over a plurality of discrete positions to vary the spray between a coarse and fine shower spray.

  • Patent number: 6199581
Abstract: A toilet tank fill assembly incorporating a standpipe which is adjustable along a plurality of discrete positions to adjust the height of the fill valve within the tank. The standpipe includes a fixed tube which is secured to the inlet port of the tank and an adjustable tube matingly attached to the fixed tube and carrying the fill valve at an upper end. The fixed tube has a plurality of peripheral camming grooves which represent the discrete positions of adjustment. The adjustable tube includes a slot receiving a locking clip designed to engage the grooves of the fixed tube to selectively prevent telescoping adjustment of the tubes. Rotation of the adjustable tube removes the clip from the groove allowing adjustment of the standpipe length.

  • Patent number: 6170765
Abstract: A shower head having a water inlet passage for providing a supply of water to the shower head and a plurality of nozzles for expelling water from the shower head. The flow of water from the water inlet passage to the nozzles is controlled by a pressure actuated toggle valve mechanism. The valve mechanism is in communication with a rotatable bottom portion of the shower head and rotates as the bottom portion of the shower head rotates. The valve mechanism can adjust the flow of water to the nozzles and shut it off altogether.

  • Patent number: 6035888
Abstract: A fill valve for controlling the filling of a fluid reservoir such as a cistern. The valve minimizes the time needed to fill the reservoir by maintaining maximum fluid flow through the valve until instantaneous shut off of the fill valve once the reservoir is filled. The fill valve includes a reciprocating valve head carried on a valve stem connected to a float arm for determining the fluid level within the reservoir. The valve head is disposed within an enclosure having grooves for conducting fluid flow past the valve head to create a back pressure behind the valve head. The valve stem seals a passageway through the valve head which operates as a pilot valve during opening and closing of the valve.

  • Patent number: 5842609
Abstract: A liquid dispensing device (10) for personal hygiene liquids is wall mounted with a plurality of containers (14) and valves (16). Each valve includes a valve plunger (60) with a head (62) having a flexible periphery (64) that provides increased bypass of liquid upon harder pressing and faster motion of the plunger. The valve has a seat (74) that presses the flexible periphery (64) against the valve inner cylindrical wall (54) of the valve bore (52) at the end of the return stroke. Each valve is also provided with a check valve (90) in an inlet port of the valve to restrict fluid flow back into the container upon actuation of the plunger. Each check valve is provided with a notch (100) that allows some restricted fluid flow of liquid back into the supply container (14) upon excessive pressure with in the valve bore (52).

  • Patent number: 5823397
Abstract: A liquid dispenser assembly (10) for personal hygiene liquids includes a container (14) and a dispenser valve (16). Each valve includes a valve plunger (60) with a head (62) having a flexible peripheral skirt (64) that provides increased bypass of liquid upon harder pressing and faster motion of the plunger. The valve (16) has an annular seat (85) that has a tapered seat surface (88) that presses the flexible skirt (64) against the valve inner cylindrical wall (54) of the valve bore (52) at the end of the return stroke.
