  • Publication number: 20240144791
Abstract: A method may include, in response to a condition related to a particular device of a plurality of devices in an information handling system, causing a particular visual indicator associated with the particular device to illuminate in accordance with a blink pattern. The blink pattern may include one or more first durations of time in which the particular visual indicator is illuminated, one or more second durations of time significantly shorter than the first durations of time in which the particular visual indicator is illuminated, and a plurality of third durations of time significantly shorter than the first durations of time and the second durations of time in which the particular visual indicator is darkened, wherein each first duration of time occurs immediately before and after a third duration of time and each second duration of time occurs immediately before and after a third duration of time.

  • Patent number: 11930607
Abstract: A field-replaceable unit is reversibly secured in place using two captive fasteners. Each fastener includes a telescoping knob that rotates 180 degrees in a first direction to engage a latch mechanism and rotates 180 degrees in the opposite direction to disengage the latch mechanism. The knob automatically extends when the latch mechanism is disengaged. The knob alternately extends and retracts in response to being successively pressed when the latch mechanism is engaged. The knob has two cutaways formed along outside edges to facilitate a two-finger grip for knob rotation and pulling the unit out of another module. A circular groove centered on an axis of rotation of the knob has a contrasting coloration and provides a visual and tactile indication of know location. A nub indicates rotational position of the knob.

  • Publication number: 20230236633
Abstract: An apparatus comprises an electronic equipment chassis comprising a housing and at least one lid, the housing comprising a control panel with a first set of one or more status indicators. The apparatus also comprises at least one latch configured for securing the at least one lid to the housing, the at least one latch comprising a second set of one or more status indicators. The apparatus further comprises a processing device configured to determine status information for electronic equipment housed in the electronic equipment chassis, the status information characterizing whether at least one of opening and removing the at least one lid is safe to perform at a given time, and controlling, based at least in part on the determined status information, at least one of the first set of indicators and at least one of the second set of indicators.

  • Publication number: 20230129135
Abstract: A server information handling system is secured by a bezel that couples to an access location, such as an air vent at a front or rear face of a housing. The bezel includes a security structure having a lock and configured to couple directly at the front face or with a bezel extension at the rear face so that the server information handling system can use the same bezel with both a front face or rear face rack mount. The bezel has a lock integrated with the security structure, an air filter that fits over the security structure to filter air flowing into the housing, and a filter brace that captures the air filter by coupling to the security structure over the air filter. The filter brace attaches and detaches at the security structure when the security structure locks a server information handling system housing so that the air filter can be changed while the housing remains secure.

  • Publication number: 20230122860
Abstract: An information handling system storage device rotationally couples first and second storage drive bays to a housing and having a gap between them. The second storage drive bay rotationally couples between a stored position in planar alignment with the first storage drive bay and a raised position that provides access to storage drives in the second storage drive bay. A latch rotationally couples to the second storage drive bay and extends in a stored position into the gap. A pin and guide arrangement defines rotation of the latch relative to the storage drive bay to a raised position and then translates upward force applied to the latch to rotate the storage drive bay to a raised position.

  • Patent number: 11558974
Abstract: A drive carrier for a cold plug device of an information handling system includes a handle, a first latch, and a second latch. The handle rotates between a locked position and an unlocked position. The first latch includes first and second ends, and slides between first and second positions. The handle is held in the locked position when the first latch is in the first position. The second latch includes first and second ends. The first end of the second latch is pivotally attached to the second end of the first latch and the second end of the second latch snap fits over a first end of the handle. The second latch prevents the first latch from sliding from the first position to the second position when the second end of the second latch is snap fitted over the first end of the handle.

  • Patent number: 11525590
Abstract: An information handling system includes a server and a bezel. The server includes multiple external ports and a mounting bracket. Multiple cables are connected to the external ports. The external ports are located within an air inlet surface of the server. The mounting bracket extends from the air inlet surface. The bezel includes a main frame and a filter. When the main frame is connected with the mounting bracket, the main frame covers the external ports and the cables. The cables extend through the cable router of the mounting bracket to exit an area between the main frame and the air inlet surface. The filter snap fits within the main frame, and provides air filtration to an airflow prior to the airflow being pulled into the server.

  • Patent number: 11102910
Abstract: A baffle is provided that is usable in an information handling system. The information handling system may have a first compartment at a first elevated pressure that is higher than an ambient pressure and a second compartment at a second elevated pressure that is higher than the ambient pressure. Further, a region adjacent to the first and second compartments and in fluid communication therewith may be operable to receive a removable baffle therein. When the baffle is inserted into the region, it may be operable to maintain the region at a third elevated pressure that is higher than the ambient pressure. However, when not inserted into the region, the baffle may be foldable into a substantially flat shape.
